New Type The Live--We Need an American Version

Let's say that KRDR is a hit, a big hit. Now lets say this starts a new warming trend of henshin flavored properties. Now let's say that by the end of next year everyone knows about these "Power Ranger Ripoffs" as a whole new genre.
With pop young actors and possibly a movie or two as a result of KRDK and possibly others, don't you think America would benefit from something like Newtype the Live? I mean we already have New Type in stores.

Otaku USA.

The Tokyoscope section of the mag focuses on all things live action including Kaiju flicks and my column that reviews the newer stuff.

I've got seen issues of the NewType anime magazine that doing short articles on stuff like DekaRanger and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon.

Anime will always be bigger than tokusatsu in the U.S. And even anime magazines are struggling. NewType USA has been cancelled. I doubt we would ever see an American version of The Live, even if Dragon Knight turns out to be a big hit.

Newtype USA got cancelled? Took long enough, that magazine should have given it up and called itself ADV monthly a long time ago.

I agree. I have a subscription, and I can tell you that this magazine covers just about all sides of the J-geek spectrum. They also have more emphasis on tokusatsu than any other magazines I've ever seen on store shelves.

By the way, Kimiden, your column rocks! :buttrock:

Well...at least they should do a "Special Edition" magazines. One dedicated to the "History of Power Rangers"..."Godzilla's Reign of Destruction"..."Metal Heroes 180"...and..."Kamen Rider returns to America"...
