New to this stuff and need a direction

I still say Blade or Hibiki are good starting points. Hibiki is very different, but it's got a strong hero, strong cast and wonderful music and suits. Blade's hero is basically the nice guy who wants to help people out.

i don't know, spider man is a unlucky bastard with a great comedy sense and spider man 3 rocked and naruto's kinda wacky and he's cool. does that give any more insight or am i just rambling?

Nah, nah.

Why don't I just give you the synopsis and pick the one you like best.

Using the power of the Imagin and the Rider Pass, Ryotaro Nogami is able to travel to different times through the DenLiner. By traveling through time, he transforms into Kamen Rider Den-O, and fights monsters of all sizes, preventing them from altering the past to affect the present and future.

That's Den-O

Kamen Rider Kabuto revolves around the story of a man named Tendou Souji. He has trained his entire life while waiting for the Kabuto Zecter so that he may properly take up the name of Kamen Rider Kabuto. Making many enemies while at the same time meeting other Riders with mysterious origins, Tendou attempts to accomplish his goal at all costs; Protecting the girl Hiyori and destroying all Worms that otherwise threaten humanity. Making a friend in Kagami Arata, who later becomes *SPOILER*, the two work together and protect Hiyori along with humanity from the alien Worms that arrived from a meteorite seven years ago.

That's Kabuto.

The Smart Brain Corporation, the world's most powerful corporation, is trying to take over the world using Orphenochs (the next stage in human evolution) to covertly kill off the world's human population. In pursuit of their goals they develop three suits of power armor, called the Rider Gears (Delta, Faiz, and Kaixa), which are created to find and protect the Orphenoch King, who can fix the genetic defect within the Orphenochs that causes their genetic structure to break down and kill them.

That's Faiz

Thirteen Advent Card decks were created for thirteen Kamen Riders. They make Contracts with monsters from the mysterious Mirror World, drawing on their strength in exchange for feeding them the life force of the creatures they destroy. The creator of the Advent Cards has only one rule: that there can be only one Kamen Rider. The others must be killed, and the sole victor will be granted a single wish. This is the Rider War.

All over the city, innocent people are being abducted, never to be seen again. During his investigations of these incidents, Shinji Kido- an intern at the online news service ORE Journal- discovers one of the Advent Card decks at an apartment where every reflective surface has been covered by newspaper. He is soon sucked into the Mirror World, discovering the terrifying truth behind the disappearances: people are literally being pulled through mirrors by the monsters of the Mirror World so that they may feed. He is about to be killed by a powerful dragon named Dragreder when he is saved by Kamen Rider Knight- Ren Akiyama.

Ren seeks to win the Rider War at all costs. He works with a young woman named Yui Kanzaki, who seeks her missing brother: the master of the Rider War, Shirō Kanzaki. Seeing Ren's strength, Shinji enters the Rider War not for the prize, but so that he may protect innocent people from the threat of the Mirror World, and stop the senseless fighting between the Kamen Riders.

With Dragreder as his Contract Monster, he becomes Kamen Rider Ryuki.

He will discover that there are some people who cannot be saved. That you must sometimes fight in order to stop the fighting. The extent to which you must go if you want your deepest wish to come true, and the sacrifices that you must make.

In the end, there can be only one Kamen Rider...

And that's Ryuki.

I'm also pretty new so I'm not really in a place to give advice but I'd recommend Kabuto too if you want to start with something newer. You might really like Den-O so you should watch that but if you want to start with a whole series I'd say Kabuto. As for Hibiki, I wouldn't recommend it at first because it gets kind of boring. You should try Gekiranger too...

well right now i'm trying to catch up with power rangers, i'm currently at dino thunder, as well as start super sentai, i just started watching the first episode of kabuto though and i got to say i like what i see:buttrock: , although i've only seen the begining theme

oh boy, i think maybe i should start writing these down:sweat:

All you have to do is say what you like in a series.

What shows, manga, anime do you prefer?

And ugh, I can't stand Power Rangers...just for some reason, I can never understand the appeal of a cut-version and more lackluster Sentai.

If you're going with Sentai, I'd say Gekiranger or Magiranger. Kamen Rider Blade and Hibiki.

But I'd really recommend also trying something that isn't Sentai or Kamen Rider and Gransazer would be a great place to start.
