New Giant Robo

I just saw the 90s OVA version of Giant Robo for the first time in December 06. I did NOT like it. It was psychological, bad character designs and Giant Robo was hardly seen.

oh, i disagree. it may have all been giant smashing robots, but that OVA was fantastic for 1995 when it was produced. the art isn't uber-detailed all the time, and that doesn't work for everybody, but the action was cool and i liked the music. i just think it needed another episode or two...

Giant Robo up there with one of the best anime I've ever seen. No it wasn't "detailed" but it was intentionally and powerfully stylized. The soundtrack was just phenomenal as well.

Like all things, it ain't for everyone, but yeah... my heart broke when I found that GR wasn't finished.

It was actually produced in 1992 or was it 93? There was hardly any giant robot action. I did not like it. I'm extremely hard to please. Sue Me.

I won't sue you, but you have to admit it had more robot action than Patlabor: Wasted XIII ^_^;

I haven't seen anything Patlabor. So i wouldn't know.

Usually Patlabor (which is about mech-piloting police in Tokyo) is chock-full of hot mech on mech action. The third movie, however, is about two hours long, and you don't see even a trace of anything mecha until about 8 minutes before the end ^_^:;
