new DCAU movie: Batman- Under the Red Hood.

He likely would but it's not really a prime example of the series proper. One of the reasons that episode is so cool is because it is an exception to the shows usual rules even though it's usual rules are totally fine and help make the show a consistent blast.
This is probably a question for the actual BATB thread, but I wonder what people consider a/the defining episode of this series so far. Just cause... it can pretty seamlessly transition from an episode like Chill of the Night to Aquaman's Outrageous Adventure.

just gave chill of the night a watch... one of the best BATB episodes yet. thanks for the reccomendation.

Yep, it's a goodun.

I'd at least give Chill of the Night a watch. There's a handful of guest voices, it's written by Paul Dini, and takes a lot of visual/color/lighting/camera cues right from TAS. I'd wager you would enjoy it.

I just watched it after you recommending it here. ****, that was great.

Hmm. I don't about the defining episode but I guess you could use the very first episode since right away you get what's distinct about it from any other modern Batman cartoon.

Though for cooler examples maybe the two-parter with Owlman or Legends of the Dark Mite?

What's more shocking is that NPH (Doogie Howser, MD) is Nightwing. Man, first The Music Meister and now Nightwing?!

Is there nothing that our buddy, Neil can't do!?

So anyone who saw my post in the Viewing Globe thread (and actually got it, which was apparently no one) should understand what I'm talking about when I say that... this movie was REALLY good. I hadn't read "Under the Hood," but I still got the story and
I really enjoyed in particular some of the flashbacks to key moments in Jason's past. The final confrontation between he and Batman was FANTASTIC, and, despite never seeing an episode, I want to watch some Supernatural because Jensen Ackles was great and stole the scene. And I was originally apprehensive about him playing Red Hood.

My only complaints were that the Lazarus Pit thing was a little lame, plus Nightwing was completely absent from the third act until a small scene at the end.

They really utilized that hour and fifteen minutes well too because it felt like a full 90-minute movie (time without credits). I'm definitely getting this one when it comes out.
