Need help remembering Hexadecimal

I know this may sound like a unusual request but I'm having problems remembering how to do Hexadecimal calculations in my head...

As some of you may know, I'm currently doing a CCNA course in Liverpool which isn't too bad but I keep flunking my assessments, especially the first one when it comes to Hexadecimal even tho I can remember that 1-9 in Decimal = 01-09 in Hexadecimal and 10 to 15 = 0A-0F in Hexadecimal.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to do Hexadecimal calculations, I'd be really grateful...
