Need help, Don't know which is real, which isn't (Comic)

Kivat

Some kind of Beast mode
I'm in a rush to try to buy these but I just came across something very confusing.

This Cover : http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/imageviewer.asp?ean=9780785108412

is different from this one: http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/0/4/55102-9411-76558-1-x-treme-x-men_super.jpg

Why do they have different story titles? I'm sure the "Now it begins" one is real, but what's with the other one? Why are there 2 versions?

Also how is this Vol.8?: http://cgi.ebay.com/X-Treme-X-Men-V...|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50#ebayphotohosting

when this is Vol.8: http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/0/1013/86976-9411-105920-1-x-treme-x-men_super.jpg

I really need to know this as soon as possible.

The first pic is for the first issue of X-Treme X-Men, Kivat. They used it again for the cover to the Vol.1 TPB.

That pic of Gambit is from Issue #8, where Gambit was introduced in the team. The Shadowcat cover is actually from another issue later in the series.

Ahhh ok thanks, well then that ebay seller is wrong, because the one with shadowcat isn't #/vol.8

:nono: ebay makes me go crazy sometimes.

I'm guessing the first one is the the Trade Paperback. The second one the actual issue.

EDIT- Damnit....Ragna beat me to it. I guess that's what I get for stopping a reply to go do work.

ewww, what's trade supposed to mean? I'm all about original.

Teach me guys. Give me your comic book wisdom. Oh and I found alot of issues I want to buy, so it seems with comics, theres NM ( near mint) G (Good) etc. why do they put NM why can't it just be Mint or not. because that creeps me out. What is near mint? a scratch? a bend? a rip? damn be specific ebay people. :shakefist
