Need advice on getting a refund from a eBAY seller...

Link to thread about how to check for Fake Memory Sticks

Basically a fake Memory Stick comes up with the message "MagicGate Unknown" whereas the genuine article displays the message "MagicGate Supported"! In fact, my second-hand 2GB and 4GB Memory Sticks that I bought in London turned out to be fakes as well!:bawling:

I'm just surprised mine have lasted so bloody long, that's all...

Mikazuki, if I file a complaint with eBay and a chargeback with PayPal, do I still need to send the item back to the seller?

Oh man. You're having the worst of luck with these. Ok, to be truthful, the best thing you should do, is save up the money. (Which is why most people end up getting bootleg cards, cause they want to save a few bucks.), save up around 80-100. That should be enough to buy you a 4 gig nowadays, then buy it from a place like Frys.com, Tigershop, BestBuy, any place that's rather known and truthful. Search around at the big name places, they sometimes have really great deals. I got my 4 gig for 69.99 with a 20 dollar rebate. So.. It's worth checking out and I've never heard of anyone getting a fake one from those.

Or you can do as GrnPsychoGarren suggested, just go to a Sony Store and grab one from there. It'll be a lot less hassle in the long-run.

Anyway, goodluck with that.
