It's a lot worst when you put faces behind the text.

Its happened before in plenty other fandoms with the neckbeards and the basement dwellers that treat their obsession more seriously than real life. Power Rangers is no exception. I am, and I'm sure plenty others are use to this display.

Of course, it goes with any fandom or subculture. Granted, it still goes in the " you take **** way too seriously " category. I can understand liking the show, discussing a show, but when it comes down to the aspect of taking that show and putting its "philosophies" into your life and revolving the way you live around it then there's ... a problem. I think.

Same with anime fans, trekkies, star wars fans, heroes fans -- Whatever fandom. Beauty Pagents for young girls, where mothers force their dreams on their daguthers....

Its this obessiveness that just bothers me. I don't mind being a fan, being apart of fandom, enjoy it tbut when it crosses the line of fandom and into the relm of real life then there's just issues that need to be addressed. A show should not affect how one lives.

So yay, it may have a positive affect on someone and they do something positive but I mean, I dunno, just fandom in general when I read something like I only went to med school so I can feel like Snape the Potions Master then there's just........

...... its facepalm.

This is why, when I go to conventions, I just don't understand it. When people actually " act like a ninja " even after con... When people just put themselves in this lifestyle....... Maybe I have no reason and that's why I never did and I just don't get it. I don't know, but its just one thing in fandom I will never... ever... like.

But it happens, even on this forum and many others.
