More Forms or More Riders?

I think more Riders since we'll always have more forms ie the main Rider's upgrades. Besides it would be a bit more refreshing after Den-O and Kiva.

That seems to be the big question these days. Do you want two riders with 7 forums or do you want 7 Riders with maybe two forums?

I like more interesting characters and character dynamics. With more Riders we get the chance of charismatic and enigmatic Riders.

Kamen Rider's biggest strike against it, is a lack of a decent bad guy. When you have more than one Rider, we get the chance of a decent bad guy.

So what say you?

More Forms or More Rider?

Neither?

People bag on Kuuga for having too many alt forms yet will mess their pants whenever the latest Rider gets a new one. For the most part I think they are needless but in Kuuga it worked because his achivement of each and every one plays into the concept and the story. Also, none of his alt.forms detracted from his main look. Rather than looking like a random collection of action figures meant to be the same character, all of Kuuga's various forms still look distinct yet still look like Kuuga! Ultimately though, alt. forms should be an exception instead of a rule.

As for multiple Riders for one, I'm sick of hero vs. hero, Rider vs. Rider, etc. across the board. In toku and in American superhero stuff. It just becomes a lazy excuse for fights and cheapens it from heroic fantasy to just power fantasy. Not to say you can't make good stories with that, of course you can. it is a dramatic hook but this is not something that should be happening all the damn time. They're heroes and they should be fighting against the real threat or at least banding together to figure out what the real threat is. I love action as much as anybody else on here but the action has to be there for the right reasons.

Really, anything more than 3 Riders is gratuitous pushing it and even that should be an exception.

I do see your point about character dynamics but it kinda presupposes that a character can only be interesting if they henshin. You can have a solo Rider protag and create an interesting cast around him without them all needing to be Riders. If you want multiple characters who henshin isn't that better served by sentai or a Seishin series? Does every American superhero comic need to be X-Men or Justice League?

Here's a wild idea, instead of making more Riders how about making interesting villans and monsters? How about focusing on making the Rider we start with interesting in the first place?
