Ranger Lore <PR04>
Note: Mostly for added RP Flavor. Creative liberties have been made to give more of an edge to this RP, mostly to lean off of Red having to be a central point of Ranger strength.
~Morphing Grids~
Morphing Grids are the half magical, half technological power source from which all a Ranger's power and arsenal are derived from. There are currently two Morphing Grids functioning:
~The Universal Morphing Grid~
The UMG is the Morphing Grid first developed by Zordon. Almost all active Rangers are linked to/derived from this system. Of the original Power Coins, only four have survived:
~Tyrannosaurus - Jason Lee Scott and Rocky DeSantos' Red Ranger Coin. The Coin was passed from Jason to Rocky and back to Jason when all the Red Rangers were summoned to fight against the Machine Empire. Its power was restored back to its ORIGINAL capacity and pales in comparison to the Mastodon Coin.
~Tigerzord/White Tiger - Tommy Oliver's White Ranger Power Coin. Currently drained of all Power for Tommy's current Black Dino Morpher.
~Mastodon - Zack Taylor and Adam Park's Black Ranger Power Coin. It was ultimately given to Adam. Originally damaged heavily after the Great Ranger War took to space, full power was restored and improved by Alpha Six and retains all of its functions as well as its new ability to summon the Overdrive Rangers' arsenal.
All of the other original Coins were lost and/or destroyed, save for the Dragonzord Coin.
~The Green Ranger Morphing Grid~
During the Great Ranger War, Lord Zedd realized that in order to defeat Tommy, the then White Ranger, he would need to fight fire with fire. Zedd took the powerless Dragonzord coin and recharged it back to full power by creating a new Morphing Grid. With the revived Green Ranger, its personal Morphing Grid, and a clone Tommy, Lord Zedd thought he had figured out how to eliminate the White Ranger. The Rangers were thrusted into colonial times of Angel Grove, forced to fight the new and improved Green Ranger. However, the Rangers were able to release the Green Ranger from Zedd's spell, and Green opted to stay in colonial times to protect the pilgrims from the evil that leaked into the past. Since then, the clone Tommy was buried with the Morpher and Coin, until grave robbers stole the treasure.
The GRMG is unique for many reasons. It's the only Grid that can operate outside of time, allowing the Green Ranger to remain in full power no matter when he was. Also, with the sheer power of the personal Grid, someone was able to clone the Power Coin to recreate the original team, with more advanced powers. Besides Adam's Coin, the Clone Coins surpass any previously existed Ranger by far.
However, due to the cloning process, the Dragonzord Coin was drained heavily of its powers, as it was used as a siphon to draw power from the Grid.. This in turn caused the Coin to lose connection with the Dragonshield, Green's golden armor, and the Dragon Dagger, the control weapon for Dragonzord.
Also, unlike the Original Coins, the Clone Coins possess some sentient life to them, as they have shown to choose their masters and disobey at moments.
There is one hiccup with the system that does cause a minor problem. With the "cross-talk" between Adam's Mastodon Coin and the Clone Mastodon Coin, sometimes the Black Ranger's power can glitch up. The most common problem would be the control over the Mastodon Zord, Adam can override the Clone Black Ranger's control, due to the purity of Adam's Coin.
~Tommy and Adam~
~Tommy Oliver
Considered the "Legendary" Ranger, Tommy has worn the Green, White, Red Zeo, and Black Dino Ranger suits. Currently a science teacer, Tommy had gone back into action when Hayley created the Black Dino Morpher for him. However, the powers were temporary and are now completely drained. Tommy, although still active in the Rangers lives, is not able to become a Ranger currently.
~Adam Park
The recognized leader of all Rangers, Adam is the second most talented and powerful Ranger in history, although he is the most powerful one in action. His services are usually called when other Rangers have been backed into a corner. He aided the Overdrive Rangers in defeating Thrax, son of Lord Zedd and Rita, as well as helped in the repair of the Universal Morphing Grid. Adam owns a martial arts studio in Angel Grove.
~Ranger System~
All Rangers a vaguely based upon the same system, except there are alterations that each Ranger can excel in.
~Red System
The Red Ranger is the physically strongest system of the six, while other fields are balanced compared to other Rangers. Also, it is the second most adaptable when dealing with other equipment.
~Blue System
Excels in polearm handling, as well as being the one system with the highest heat resistance of all the other Rangers. This is offset by a lower cold resistance
~Black System
Excels in long range weaponry and blunt/axe type weapons. Also has the highest cold resistance of all the Rangers. This is offset by a lower heat resistance.
~Yellow System
Excels in dual wielding weaponry. Also, this system is the fastest of all Rangers. This is offset by a lower defense.
~Pink System
Excel in long range weaponry. This system is the most accurate than all Rangers with a more advanced aiming HUD. This is offset by a lower strength.
~Green System
Matches Red in specs, while also having the greatest defense thanks to the Dragon Shield. Capable of being a standalone, the Green System, in theory, is the best system. This is offset by the fact it is the easiest to corrupt.
~Ranger System Weaponry and Equipment~
All Ranger Systems have the following:
~Power Morpher
A belt buckler device with a handle and silver plating. In the center is a clamp that claims the Power Coin and keeps it secure until the user presses the release button. The device is strong enough to even be used as a weapon, mostly in the fashion of a knuckle duster (a larger variant of brass knuckles). The Green Ranger system uses a gold plated Power Morpher and is able to reenergize other Power Coins.
~Blade Blaster
The standard firearm/combat knife of all Rangers. The handle of the weapon unfolds out and the hand guard is slid over the barrel to turn into gun mode. The blade in knife mode can extend or be retracted. The Blade Blasters can be used in tandem to use the technique "Ranger Strike."
~Power Beam
The eyes of the helmets can be used as head lamps in dark environments.
~Power Siphon
A last resort system. When the other Rangers are rendered physically incapable, the remaining Ranger can latch the Morphers onto his/her belt and siphon their powers. This causes the suit to be "stained" with streaks of the siphoned colors and allows the Ranger to summon the siphoned systems' weaponry. This method is physically taxing on a Ranger and cannot be used for long.
~Power Soul
The other last resort system. In times of great danger, the Power Coins may recognize the heightened desperation of the user. When this occurs, the soul of Power Coin's source of power can and will possess the user. When possessed, the user will behave in a bestial manner to emulate their creature, down to their roar. In this state, the user's strength is greatly increased but at the cost of self control. This system is also physically taxing on a Ranger and cannot be used for long.
~Red System~
~Power Sword
The Red Ranger's longsword weapon, very sturdy and well balanced in make.
~Power Scope
The Red Ranger's visor can be used as a heat detection scope, ideal in dark areas when looking for living creatures.
~Blue System~
~Power Lance
The Blue Ranger's polearm with a claw shaped blade at both ends. The weapon can be broken down to use two maces.
~Power Tracer
The Blue Ranger's visor can be used to create maps to link with the other Rangers.
~Yellow System~
~Power Daggers
The Yellow Ranger's daggers, very lightweight and works well with Yellow's high speed.
~Power Boost
The boots of the Yellow Ranger can be charged to increase the running speed and jumping height.
~Black System~
~Power Axe
The Black Ranger's axe weapon, capable of cleaving most objects in two. Can also turn into the Power Cannon, a very powerful, but slow reloading, firearm.
~Power Gauntlets
The gloves of the Black Ranger can be charged to increase punching and hand held weapon power.
~Pink System~
~Power Bow
The Pink Ranger's bow and arrow weapon, very handy for piercing long range targets.
~Power Zoom
The Pink Ranger's visor can be used as binoculars, as well as a zooming targeting scope for the weapons.
~Green System~
~Dragon Dagger
The Green Ranger's dagger (although it's more of a dirk). The weapon functions as a flute, used to summon and control the Dragonzord by remote. The Summoning Song can also charge up the Dragon Shield and make Green invincible while playing it.
~Dragon Shield
The Green Ranger's armor consisting of a golden chest plate, armbands, and cuff trimmings. It already heightens Green's defense, but can make him invincible when used with the Dragon Dagger's flute function. However, the invincibility renders him useless in combat, except for an indestructible meat shield.
~Dragon Scope
Similar to the Power Scope, the Dragon Scope combines the function of the Power Scope and Power Zoom, as well as the added function for night vision when the heat scanner is rendered useless.
