Microsoft doesn't like swearing online

According to this they patented some software that will sensor curse words on X-Box live.

Now I don't have an 360 but what's going to be more annoying: listen to a bunch of preteens curse you out or hearing nothing but bleeps instead?

In all seriousness, it sounds to me like it tries to figure out whether you're going to cuss and censors accordingly, whether an actual cuss is said.

I doubt it'll ever happen for two reasons, one, it's hard to imagine anything working fast enough to censor words in real time, seeing as there's nearly no delay between when you speak and when people hear you on XBL. And two, it doesn't even seem legal (in the US anyway). What happened to free speech?

I could easily see people throwing a fit over this.
