Just curious if anyone else has had an 'un-authorized' memory unit stop working, I for one didnt know it was coming untill it was to late >.< my poor Max Memory with 4gb now a useless peice of plastic, but anyway I dont really see the point in microsoft doing this, in Datels defense it is because of them I was able to keep my save games after the last 120 gb harddrive decided to RROD my old xbox when I phoned microsoft about the red ring and loss of data on there official harddrive there basic gist was 'tough luck' and they said I was making the problem up! HA! (which is why Im glad I backed saves up in the first place),
Anyway the other reason I am posting this is because I have a way for you to get your save games/profiles back if you had left them on the card and not knowing that your card was about to become a brick ... unfortunatly it will mean you do need the Data Transfer cable (get them cheap of ebay of ask a friend to borrow theres) and the software for Xport 360 (if you need the software I can send you the install) or the other way, an alternative xbox with a memory card unit on without access to the internet and obviously before the update came through (not recomended)
now once you have these peices (transfer cable and xport 360 software) connect your harddrive to the computer, open xport360, select the harddrive, expand on Partion 3, expand on content (where save games, profiles etc are stored) now if its a gamer profile you can drop it into the content folder, the game saves them selfs should go into the profile which should be expandable, once all your saves are back on, safely remove it from your PC and hook it back up to you xbox and you should be ready to go once again.
I for one have just happily got my Fable 2 save games back for 2 profiles
mine and my partners, so for me yes it was worth it, but will it be worth it for you? anyway hope this has helped someone and sorry for if what I have posted is against the rules but if is just close the thread, on another note im sure some of you will notice this can be used for game hacking/profile editing, dont ask me how to do it because I dont know, and dont wanna know! if you cheat at your games/profile your scum >.<!
Also once you have mastered how to copy the saves back and forth, I dont suporse there is anything stopping you from using your computer to keep your back ups, my TB hardrive is looking pretty good about now!
