Mai-Otome Thoughts (Spoilers)

It's true that you get more backstory for the characters that crossed over to Otome in the original, but most of them were either relatively minor characters in Otome or completely different from the original. For me, it was just as enjoyable to see the alternate versions in HiME, especially for characters like Natsuki, Shizuru, Mai and Mikoto, for whom HiME worked like prequel, in that it explained their origins. Granted, they're not in continuity with each other, but the Otome versions are basically a loose continuations (at least in spirit) of the originals in those cases.

And as for the differences between HiME and Otome, I found it very amusing the differences between HiME's Mashiro and Otome's Mashiro so far. And Shiho as well (I'm just so used to the insane bitch that Otome's Shiho is :laugh: ).

Now if only I had the money to get more than just Vol. 1 of My-HiME :laugh:

I love the Mai Series, and can't wait for three. I have a good feeling that Mai-Three will be focused around Mai, as a final turning point to complete the circle.

It will be so fuckin sweet.

I need to buy the Manga Vol1 of Hime, and then the DVDs of Hime. Untill Otome comes to the states. ::Squee::

I'm sure that Static Sub will release it real quick. Unfortunately, I learned that MOZ will air sporatically. So the next ep to air is in Feb. 2007. :sly:
