Mac Wins at Phones: iPhone

I'm a college student racked with bills and other expenses, but I still plan on getting one. This thing comes out in June, there's plenty of time to save money until then. I doubt I'll actually be able to get it by June, but it's not too much of a stretch to say I might get it before the end of the year.

$599 was the official price, I'd check their website, but, as you can probably guess, it's down at the moment.

Yeah, if I can finally get my financial troubles in order, I might try to find a way off of Sprint and back onto Cingular, so I can get that on Radioshack's employee plan (it includes unlimited text messaging and internet access  ).

And $599 is for the 8 GB model, $499 for the 4 GB. I'd probably go for the 4 GB, and use that extra $100 to cover my bills for a few months.

The battery life for that phone will be horrible with all those multi functions. It looks nice, but I think iPods and cellphones whould stay a good 50 feet away of each other's range.

Leave the cellphone business to Motorola.

well, this works 2 fold in my faivor:

-I have Cingular (well, the family does)

-I'm due for a phone change by the time IPhone comes out.

so, insted of saving 200 bucks for something top of the line, maybe plop down 300-500 dollars for IPhone and i'll be set for the next 10 years or so XD

I wonder if they'll sell it commercially (as in without cingular or other phone company tie ups) here in the Philippines or in my other home in Hong Kong?

im sure Apple will set up a middle-man internationaly to sell the phone. I mean, it be stupid not to sell this puppy world wide.

you guys have any idea how much this phone will get scratched up from daily use? It's definitely not worth it. This will probably be a US only phone, Japanese would never buy such a thing, they will always bow to their DoCoMo overlords.

That's true. I probably wouldn't even consider actually buying one if I couldn't get a good case to protect the screen.

hmm, very true, i'd personaly invest in a protector or something... but usualy with Cingular, when you resign or sign up for a new phone, they give you a full pacage, so your more then likely going to get a protector in the set.
