Haida Street Films and RBG Films are preparing to present their psychological thriller, Listen Carefully, on digital platforms next month. Andy McNeary is just your average assistant bank manager with anxiety issues and a newborn baby. He certainly didn’t expect to come home one evening and find the aforementioned baby to be baby-napped. The kidnappers’ communication tool of choice: Andy’s baby monitor (which must have a heck of a range). Andy must keep the monitor with him at all times and follow their instructions if he wants to see his infant again. But Andy’s got a hammer, and the bloody screenshots reveal he’s not afraid to use it for its unintended purpose… Listen Carefully made its world premiere at Fantaspoa, the International Fantastic Film Festival of Porto Alegre. It went on to premiere in North America at the Dances With Films festival, and toured the circuit from there, screening at Macabro Mexico City, Fangofest Amposta and Scarefest Weekend. The director of the picture, Ryan Barton-Grimley (Hawk and Rev: Vampire Slayers, The Truth), stars as Andy alongside co-star / producer Simone Barton-Grimley (Elijah’s Ashes) as his wife Abby and co-star / producer, Ari Schneider (Hawk and Rev: Vampire Slayers, Elijah’s Ashes) […]

Average Joe vs. Psychopath? This has potential. The whole premise of an ordinary guy like a bank manager thrown into a high-stakes situation is intriguing. Hammer in hand? Sounds like Andy might not be as average as he seems. Will he cave under pressure, or will he fight back?

isten Carefully making the rounds at genre festivals like Fantaspoa and Macabro Mexico City has me hyped. Those festivals are known for showcasing some seriously twisted films. The fact that Ryan Barton-Grimley, the director, is also starring adds another layer of interest. Can't wait to see his vision come to life.

Not sure about a director starring in their own film. Sometimes it's best to leave acting to the actors. Hopefully, Barton-Grimley doesn't get lost behind the camera directing himself. The whole baby monitor angle feels a bit gimmicky. Will it be genuinely scary, or just feel kind of silly? I'll need some convincing before I dive into this one.

Supporting indie horror is important! Always happy to see independent genre films get a platform on VOD. The fact that Listen Carefully has a female co-star/producer (Simone Barton-Grimley) is a plus. Hopefully, it brings a fresh perspective to the psychological thriller genre. December 16th is marked on my calendar!

The "connected home" nightmare we all secretly fear? In an age of smart devices and internet-connected everything, this film could tap into some real anxieties. The baby monitor as a weapon? Spooky and thought-provoking. Will definitely check this out to see how they explore the dark side of technology.

Not sure if I can handle this! Psychological thrillers aren't usually my thing, but the whole premise sounds so bizarre, I'm kind of curious. Maybe I can convince a friend to watch it with me for moral support. Baby kidnappings are scary enough, but a creepy voice on a baby monitor? Yikes!

Great, another movie to add to my ever-growing watchlist! December is already packed with holiday releases, but this psychological thriller sounds too good to miss. Available on Apple TV, Tubi, and Prime Video? Perfect, I already have subscriptions to all three! Guess I'll just have to fit it in between the holiday rom-coms.

I'm excited to see what Haida Street Films and RBG Films have to offer. They seem to be putting out some interesting, low-budget horror films
