Lego Introduces New Fifth Season Stranger Things Set

Now that the first half of Stranger Things 5 is out there, we can start rolling out the REAL merch — the stuff that might have contained spoilers were it released a week ago. Lego has just unveiled a magnificent new set — the Creel House — that measures 20 inches wide and nearly 12 inches tall when assembled from 2,593 pieces. It can be any version of the house that you want…the spotless version from Creel’s mind, the dilapidated version that it has become in the 80s, or you can even pull a lever and make it topsy-turvy (see above) for reasons that have yet to be explained. Two vehicles are parked outside, the WSQK radio van and Steve’s red beamer. And the set comes with the full Season 5 cast, minus a Turnbow or two. You get Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Will, Max, Holly, Steve, Nancy, Jonathan, Robin. and both versions of Vecna: his ugly self and his genteel persona of Mr. Whatzit. There is a little wheel you can turn in the house to “change” Whatzit into Vecna via a revolving door. What’s Holly wearing? Wings? What’s that about? Missing someone? We can’t say we agree with […]

I like how detailed this set is, because I always felt the Creel House was one of the strongest locations in the series. I enjoy building sets that give me options, and switching between the clean version, the broken version, and the upside-down version sounds fun to me. I also think it is smart that they included almost the full cast, since the story feels more complete when everyone is in one place. I am not sure how I feel about the limited-time bonus set, because it adds pressure to buy fast. I understand marketing, but I prefer when all characters are available without a deadline. Even so, the price makes sense to me for more than two thousand pieces. I know Lego sets have been going up for years, and at least this one feels like it gives enough content. I just hope the wormhole clue is not too big of a spoiler, because I want to enjoy Season 5B blind.

The character lineup is solid, and the transforming feature for Vecna and Mr. Whatzit sounds like something I would play with a lot. The bonus figures make me hesitate, because I do not enjoy chase items. Still, it is rare to get a full cast in one release, so I consider that a big plus.I do not usually buy large Lego sets, but this one made me stop and think. I like location builds more than vehicles, and this house has so many angles that I feel it would be fun to pose on a shelf.

I am interested mostly because of the wormhole diagram inside the studio. When Lego adds small story hints, I usually pay more attention. I think they sometimes hide information better than trailers do. The set itself looks fine, but my real reason to buy it would be collecting the details connected to the plot. The price is high, but for a major show’s final season, I expected it.

This feels like the type of set that will sell out fast, especially with the early-buyer bonus. I like Hopper with a beard, so that alone tempts me to get it right away. I think the idea of offering a smaller studio build as a timed gift is both exciting and stressful. I also like the cars included, because I enjoy adding vehicles to displays. If the final episode drops the same day, I think many people will build the set while watching, which sounds enjoyable.

I focus more on minifigures than the structures, and this selection is very good. Eleven, Max, Robin, Nancy, all in one box, is something I have wanted for a long time. Holly with wings confuses me, but it also makes me curious, so I appreciate that little mystery. I do not love the price, because three hundred is a lot where I live, but I like Stranger Things enough to think about saving for it.

I enjoy Lego engineering tricks, so the revolving door that switches Mr. Whatzit into Vecna interests me the most. I enjoy mechanical features inside buildings, because they make the set feel alive. I also like that the house can turn into the upside-down version, since that adds replay value. The cars are not a big deal to me, but the structure seems dense enough to keep me building for hours.

I think this is one of Lego’s better show tie-ins. The Creel House has personality, and seeing it represented in different conditions feels like a strong creative choice. I like the inclusion of younger characters and older characters together, because it makes the world feel complete. The price hurts, but I have spent similar amounts on other hobbies, so I cannot complain too much. I might get it if I find space for it.

I love big display pieces, and this one looks like something that would stand out on a shelf. I enjoy the color choices of the house, especially the aged parts. The upside-down transformation seems smooth based on the description. I also like that Steve’s car is included, because that is a recognizable part of the show for me. I do not enjoy the limited-time bonus practice, but the main set seems strong enough on its own. I will probably get it once I plan out where to put it.
