The Zonai lore in Tears of the Kingdom was intriguing, but I felt like it didn't fully explore the potential of their technology. The hints about their civilization were cool, but they left so many questions unanswered. I expected more depth considering how much hype surrounded their mysterious presence throughout the game.

Finally! I have been waiting for this since 2023, checking every few months hoping for news. TotK deserved a proper art book from day one, it is such a huge game with so much creative design behind it. 480 pages sounds amazing, especially the 300 pages of concept art and rough sketches. That is the part I care about the most, seeing how ideas change before becoming the final product. I also like that they included real history of the Zonai instead of just game screenshots. October 20 cannot come fast enough for me. I already know I am getting the deluxe version even though it costs more, that map and the Secret Stone replica look too good to skip

I work in game design and books like this are gold for learning how a AAA title comes together. Concept sketches showing early ideas that got scrapped are often more interesting than the final art, because you see the reasoning behind decisions. Eighty pages on Zonai history is also a strong selling point, that lore was left pretty vague in the actual game so a deeper explanation is welcome. Will definitely buy the standard edition, no need for the physical extras for me.
