Latest Trailer For Tron: Ares Appears

I grew up watching Tron: Legacy, and even though it had issues, I was fascinated by the digital world they created. I really hope Ares doesn’t abandon that. The trailer looks slick, but too much focus on the real world might dilute the identity of the franchise. And about Ares — I think he will try to do the right thing but will struggle. These stories are never just good versus evil. I want to see him question his creators and evolve beyond their expectations.

Let me guess: another AI experiment gone wrong? Wow, that’s new. Jokes aside, I don’t know how to feel. Jared Leto playing a rogue program just screams “over-the-top performance” to me. I’m not against action in the real world, but if this turns into Fast & Furious with glowsticks, I’m out.

I’ve followed this franchise since the 1982 film, and I like that they’re trying to modernize the concept again. But it should still feel like Tron. Ares being in our world doesn’t bother me, as long as we don’t forget the roots. Recognizers, light cycles, the grid — these are not just Easter eggs, they’re essential. I hope SDCC gives us more details, especially about the digital side of things.
