Last Remnant

I was initially going to wait on this, but seeing as it's under 30$ at Amazons black Friday weekend sale, I went ahead and got it anyway. If the PS3 version ends up containing anything extra I'll just get them both. It wouldn't be the first time i bought a multiplatform game for... multiple.. platforms.

I heard a lot of bad things about games like Infinate Undiscovery and Legend of Dragoon, but I ended up loving both games despite the obvious flaws. I don't expect perfection out of the game, but I'll probably enjoy it for what the game is. For $30 I can't really go wrong, I can always trade the game in and get almost what i paid for it if i really can't stand it.

I've heard nothing but bad things unfortunately. There any good to this?

so far the only good I see are the voice actors (JYB babeh!). The dialog is typical, the set-up is standard, and the game itself is riddled with problems.

It's worth a rent. The graphics are incredible of course.

Yeah , the only thing I had problem with was the voice acting. I just got the X Box version today, hopefully it goes well

The graphics are very good when they work. I can't stand the textures fading in and out. It was a minor thing in Mass Effect that I hope gets fixed for future ME titles, but the texture issues in Remnant are just game killing IMO. They happen so often it takes me out of the moment. If the game were say as good as ME, I would keep playing, but Remnant is just more of the same old thing with a new type of RPG battle system.

Having sat down and actually put some time into it, I have to say it's not as bad as people seem to make it out to be. Yes the game has it's flaws, and some may be prominent, but I don't view any of them as game breaking. As long as you can install the game the main issue, the battles, become alot less bothersome, there's still a little slow down, but not nearly as bad as without, the issue with textures popping, while noticeable, isn't as bad as I've seen in some games.

All in all I definitely say the games worth a rental for jrpg fans, and if you can look past the faults you can easily milk a lot of game time out of this. The story's not too bad either.
