KR1 "Battle Worn" PT.2

Howzit ALL,

As some of you already know, I made a suit based on a KR1 Battle Worn Helmet I was gifted for Christmas.:buttrock: However, the coloring of the helmet was WAY off from the pics I have seen of KR1 in the movie, The NEXT.:shakefist
Here is a pic...well, one of the pics I have seen of KR1 from the movie:

Now, here are some pics of my helmet that's supposed to replicate the helmet shown above.:eyebrow:

WAY off in color, and looks more like this KR1's helmet with "Battle Damage":

Now, KR1 in New Version is my favorite suit variant. However, I became more interested...okay, "obsessed" with the KR1 Battle Worn suit the more I kept seeing pics of it. I have yet to see the movie, so it's hard for me to tell the "actual color" of his helmet. Going on the pics I have seen, gasha, and the killer Bandai BM Project KR1, I decided to...to..."destroy" not only my gifted helmet, but the belt as well.:O_O: That being said, here is what my KR1 Battle Worn Helmet looks like now...first though, here is what really inspired me, the Bandai BM Project KR1:

I told you guys I destroyed it...but I think it is more accurate now than when I received it? I know I am gonna "Ridah Kick" myself for asking this, but what do you guys think?

Hey DarkWolf,

Yeah...I guess it didn't turn out THAT bad. I mean, considering all I used was two cans of spray paint, one jar of brush paint, one small brush, one bigger brush, a black paint pen, and a WalMart plastic bag!:sweat:

I just hope it looks closer to the actual "Battle Worn KR1" than when I first got it...:169:

Honestly, though, it's not half bad; could be better, but I expected way worse. :sweat: Luckily my intuition failed me; it's still as cool as ever! :thumbs:

From my view, I think the mouth piece needs a little more "Battle Damaged' to it IMHO. if it was me I would actually put some dirt (NOT WET DIRT) on it for a more natural damaged look.

Good to see you, and thanks for posting. Well...it does have some "damage" on both sides of his "jaw"...I don't wanna screw it up any further.:disappoin Also, I actually have no access to "dry" dirt at the moment...experiencing flash floods at the moment.:O_O:

Thanks for such a kind comment. Hard ya know, being that I gotta go based on pics AND it is damn hard to find matching paint colors in a can. (No way am I gonna mix any paints...I'll end up as bald as these smileys pulling my hair out due to frustration!):sweat: That being said, I cannot for the life of me find the color of the Bandai BM Project gloves and boots. But then I noticed on this gasha version, it is like a navy blue/teal-ish color:

So...I ended up finding the color for The FIRST gloves, boots, armor, and mouthpiece, and I tried it, and it sucked. Not being able to find the BM Project color, I tried the HGCORE color. Here are some cr*ppy pics I just took not too long ago. Oh yeah, check out the belt!!!

I will keep searching for the Bandai BM Project color for the gloves and boots though, but for now...what do you think?

Heh, hope you can wait a couple years! :sweat: When I get into things like this, I always try to take it the whole nine yards; I'm just not one to half-ass things, so it's do-or-die for me. I've actually been researching moldmaking, vacuuforming, fiberglass and resin, and the like. It's amazing what you can Google on this stuff, if you know "what" to search for! :laugh:
