KR Couples

How many couples are there in the KR franchise? And who are the best?

My guess

Terui/Akiko
Eiji/Hina

Do you mean official? Because if so, I can only think of about a handful off the top of my head ( Terui/Akiko, Nago/Megumi, Sakurai/Airi ... I'm sure there's more, I'm just thinking of the ones that either got married or had some kind of significance in the show. )

Unofficially, anything goes really ... though admittedly Eiji/Hina isn't my favorite :P

Ren and his girlfriend who's in a coma.

Off the top of my head...

Hongo and Ruriko probably would've happened if Fujioka hadn't had his accident.

Kazami/Junko was kind of a thing, although it never really went anywhere.

Keisuke had both Ryoko and Kiriko, although that ended pretty abruptly.

Shigeru/Yuriko

Kotaro/Reiko

Ryou from Agito had two different girlfriends who ended up dead.

Shinji/Miho was definitely happening in Episode Final.

Kitaoka/Reiko, despite her protests

Ren/Eri

Faiz had a fairly elaborate web of interconnecting love lines.

Mutsuki/Nozomi

Ibuki/Kasumi

Todoroki/Hinaka

Tsurugi/that ZECT chick whose name I can never remember

The incredibly complicated Yuto/Airi

I will always maintain that Tsukasa/Natsumi was kind of a thing

Wow I know there are many couples or pseudo-couples in KR but the fact that only Terui/Akiko came to my mind must mean they're my favorite. It's funny how the first time I said they would make a cute couple, somebody here told me I had a peculiar taste or something along that line. So I'm happy they're ended up married :loltongue:

I also like Yuito and Airi but I prefer Yuito's older self. His teenage self could get annoying sometimes (largely due to the actor more than the character himself)

If Tomoko and Meteor in Fourze ever develop a romantic interest or a close friendship between each other, they'll replace Terui/Akiko as my favorite.

Edit: Hm, I think Shotora would court any pretty chicks he comes across but mostly because he's a hopeless romanticist, not so much because he's a slut like Otoya xD. For me, those two would never be in the same league.

If they were "kind of a thing", then Ankh/Hina must also have been "kind of a thing." Maybe they are all having a threesome? :sweat: Don't forget Kagami/Hiyori in the movie only. And ... Saeko and at least three guys

It's a little early for Fourze, but the show has hinted at Kengo and Yuki, and Shun is definitely interested in trying to win Miu back

Shotaro seemed to have a thing for Kirihiko's sister (Yesterday Dopant) and said in one of the Delusion Diaries that he was waiting for her to recover her memories. I think that's kind of cute/tragic

Well, since Ankh is essentially possessing Hina's big brother, I doubt Hina would have a thing for him since won't it seemed like incest? :sly:

I can see multiple shipping occurred in Fourze. Too bad Gentaro's "girlfriend" only shown up in the movie.

The OOO team had no problem with incest - look at the whole backstory involving Maki and his sister. Hina loves Ankh at least platonically, or she could never have considered sacrificing her brother's life for his. If you want to argue that Eiji/Hina is somehow "canon" because of their close relationship, the same argument could be made for Ankh/Hina or Ankh/Eiji. Even Date/Gotou

Sorry, I never saw anything between them that resembled what one would call romantic relationship. I think Date will most likely end up with Satonaka imo.

Er, why? Date thinks she's hot, but that's about it. She doesn't seem to care about him unless she's being paid to. Plus, he's gone back to being a travelling doctor ...

I'm simply saying that if you (general "you") make the argument that Eiji/Hina is canon based on them having a close friendship, the same argument could be made for at least three other "couples" on the show.

And coming back to the incest thing, Toei seems to really like writing overtones of it into Kamen Rider. Maki and his sister, Tendou and Hiyori, Philip and Wakana, Ryoutarou and Hana ... you could even argue for Wataru and his brother having homoerotic subtext in Kiva, especially that episode where they were staring intensely at each other while Taiga spoke about how lonely he was. I'm surprised Fourze has made it this far with no incest, but then we haven't met Gemini Zodiarts yet
