Seems like an innocent looking, (and annoying, just like they all are) commercial for Kellogg's Frosties, doesn't it (or Frosted Flakes if you're American).

Why it caused so much controversy? Well first there's the rumours that the boy in the commercial who sang the "they're gonna taste great" song committed suicide after people bullied him because of his role in the commercial. From what it looks like, this website says it's untrue. Then there's this website claiming that the boy in the commercial is a CGI character and not a real actor (hmmm, for a CGI he sure must look super realistic.. ).

Either way, we may never know!! Meanwhile, here's some spoofs!!

Co-Incidentally, I just was watching on BBC News last night about they're permanentally banning all children's commercials on TV advertising for snacks that contain sugar, fatty stuff and all sorts of stuff considered unhealthy (yes, even Frosties/Frosted Flakes is bad for your health). While this would leave children in tears because they won't see their favorite Tigers, Monkeys and other cartoon characters ever again, leaves me unbothered as I no longer watch Jetix/FoxKids, and why would I want to watch some kids getting overexcited about some breakfast cerial I don't eat anyway (let alone rarely eat breakfast)?
