All over the world, a select few humans exhibit strange transformations, turning into extraordinary warriors that battle each other and adversaries. These, are the Kamen Riders, 13 powerful knights, granted the ability by a waves of power from explosions in the earth’s core. Partnered with contact beasts, they will fight each other to be the last rider standing.
Robert Clark sat in his apartment and ran his hand through medium length silver dyed hair. He was at his research station, which held multiple computers and devices, and looked through his one of his folders, labeled RIDERS. He took out a small hard drive and plugged it into the USB station as a program started to run. On the screen was a map of the world with numerous dots, some big and some small.
“Okay, time to add this one to the files” he said, running the icon over Chicago and left clicking two times as a large black dot appeared on the city. “That’s the last one that I have data on.” The man looked over the map, first to New York City, his home, and then down to Washington D.C. “I’ll get to her later; she doesn’t seem like a threat.”
Next was Miami as he smiled. “I wonder how Cynthia’s doing” Robert pondered aloud as he clicked on the dot and a picture of a young woman with long brunette hair and green eyes came up. She was wearing a lime green halter top and tight blue jeans, and had a microphone in hand. “She better not be spending too much of her time trying to be a Britney Spears wannabe; that wont happen for a few years” he said in an insulting tone. “Just do your job, and we’ll try to work something out at the end.”
After looking at more people, from Sydney, Australia to Nairobi, Kenya, to Los Angeles, he finally focused his eyes on one specific location: Las Vegas. He clicked on the dot and two pictures filled the screen. One was of a man with short brown hair, and the other a man with spiky black hair gelled up. “Tristan and Alex, you better two better be having fun now, because it will soon end.” Robert smiled sadistically as he walked over to a file cabinet and unlocked a drawer, taking out a navy belt with silver wings as the buckle and strapped it on. “Time to take the first two out.”
“Here you go” a 24 year old with short brown hair said as he fished out two beers from the ice and gave them to a man. Tristan collected the mans tab for the evening and put it into a drawer, watching the people on the floor dance. “Only a half hour left until I can have some fun” he said to himself as he quickly fixed a drink for another customer before cleaning a glass and talking to a friend who was sitting down.
“So I was watching this show on Discovery, don’t know why, last night, and it says that the Earth’s core has been sending out some seismic waves” the guy said. “I mean, how crazy is that?” Tristan smiled and nodded at the comment. “Well I don’t think it’s that crazy, their basically earthquakes, right?” he asked. “That’s the thing dude; the show said that there were no rocks hitting each other. It’s sort of like a paranormal thing that is controlled by other forces.”
“Were you perhaps high when you watched this?” Tristan questioned with a laugh. “Hey, I quit when I got a job with that corporation.” He paused to take a drink and signaled to another bartender to come over. This one was a little more muscular than Tristan. “Alex, could there be a reason other than earthquakes for the earth to send out seismic waves?”
The man with black hair gelled up raised his eyebrows at the question and hesitated to answer. “Well….” he said, looking at Tristan, who quickly shook his head. “No. You’ve been talking a lot about these things recently, what’s up?”
Jim looked around and motioned for the two of them to come in closer. “Okay, all I can say is that my boss believes that the earths core houses unimaginable power, and gives it to some people” he whispered, and then burst out laughing. “God, I can’t believe I work for such idiots. The only reason I took the job was because there was nothing else open.” Jim looked at his watch and cursed. “****, I have work to do at home, one of the big shots is thinking of giving me a promotion. See you later guys.” Jim paid his tab and walked away, leaving Tristan and Alex to talk alone.
“Think he knows anything?” Alex asked. “Nah, he just said he doesn’t believe a word they say. Nobody knows about us and they hopefully never will” Tristan said as the clock struck 11:30 PM, signaling that their hours for the night were over. They both said goodnight to the other bartenders and left for the casino floor of The Palms, but Alex stopped and winced, giving a look of concern at his friend, who held his shoulder. “How bad?” Tristan asked, concerned, knowing what was happening. Alex was exhibiting signs of a symptom that he had since he becoming a rider, and they were getting worse as time passed. “About a 90% chance that I won’t transform” he said before taking a deep breath. “I’ll go home just in case. Don’t lose any money, okay?”
“Don’t worry, I have a feeling it’s going to be a good night for me. Keep the lights on downstairs, and call me if something happens” Tristan said as Alex nodded and headed off to his car, while Tristan continued walking towards the floor, and took a quick glance at his red and silver belt that had a Chinese dragon as the buckle. “Ever since you came along, my luck has been better” he said as he heard his contact beast roar in his head.
On the other side of the world sat a middle aged man in his dojo, meditating. Behind him was a golden phoenix. This was Irou Enishi, Kamen Rider Phoenix Knight. He opened up his eyes and quickly jumped up for a man of his age, and grabbed a staff as his body transmitted a golden aura that quickly consumed him before dying down, leaving him in a gold, black, and bronze armored state. The phoenix behind him flew forward as he lept onto it, flying into the sky. “We have come far, haven’t we?” Irou stated. “Yes master, we have in these years” the phoenix said. “Our bond is strong.”
“You are correct. We share more than most riders do. You are more than my contact beast; you are a part of my family” Irou said as they looked over the mountains and down on his house. “My hope is that I don’t lose you, as I believe the war has started.”
“Yes, I can sense it too. It feels like something big is about to happen, what shall we do?”
Irou motioned for his beast to land. “We need to protect the ones with pure souls. I need to warn them.” The man stepped off the back of his partner and held his staff in front of him, looking into it and visualizing 5 individuals. “I am sending them the warning, I hope they heed it.” Irou’s mind powers started to activate, releasing a wave of telepathic energy from the head of the staff. “That is all I can do for now. May the power protect them.”
In Australia, 18 year old Casey Allor was on his surfboard, about to catch a wave when his head started to hurt. “Whoa, what’s happening?” he said as he saw a Japanese man standing in front of him. “Um, who are you, God?”
“No, I am Irou Enishi, and I have a warning for you, Casey Allor”
“How do you know my name?”
“You and I are one of the same” Irou said as he held out a belt, stunning Casey. “Is that?”
“Yes it is. I am a Kamen Rider, just like you. You need to know that a war has started between us riders, but do not fear me. I will not hurt you, as you have a pure soul. I have established a telepathic link between the two of us. You can contact me with your mind now. I must go and warn the others; be safe Crustacean Knight”
Just like that, Casey’s headache was gone, and he was sitting on his surfboard. “Okay, I need a break” he said, paddling back to shore and lying down on a beach towel. He was in a secluded spot of the beach, his own personal surf spot. He was about to fall asleep when his arm was pinched.
“Casey, you need to take that advice seriously.” The long haired blonde teenager looked to his right and saw his contact beast, the Kamen Crab. “I told you not to do that anymore” Casey said. “Master, I know you are inexperienced with this power, but you need to accept that you are now a part of something big.”
“Look, I didn’t ask for this you know, remember the first time we met?”
“Ah yes, you screamed like a girl and punched me, breaking your hand” the beast chuckled, but Casey wasn’t laughing. “You do realize that I could die from this, right?”
“I have some faith that you will win”
“SOME?” Casey yelled, infuriated. “Great, I’m a Kamen Rider and my contact beast doesn’t believe in me. My life was going so nice, good grades, three girlfriends, and a future in pro surfing. But then you came along, and all of that dwindled down from excellent to good. News flash, I don’t like good, I like great!”
“Calm down and listen” the crab said sternly. “If you don’t accept responsibly, innocent people are going to get hurt. Now suck it up and become a man.”
“Whatever, I don’t want to argue, I just want my life to be as good as it was before”
“It can if you win this challenge”
“But wouldn’t that involve me killing others, Mr. Hypocrab?’
“There is more than one way to win this, which is all that I can say.” With that the beast disappeared, leaving Casey to think.
In Washington D.C. Jessica Menunnes was sound asleep in her apartment, having the same dream that she was having for the past week. In it, she was being chased by a black dragon, a cobra, a rhino, a bison, a chameleon, and a bat. She ran as fast as she could, before turning around and throwing her nurse uniform on the ground, revealing a gold and white belt around her waist. With a flash of white light, a circle of energy appeared around her and exploded, leaving her in her rider form as the Swan Knight. She took out a slender sword and charged at the beasts, fighting all of them at once.
This time, she was faring better than before. She jumped over a charge from the rhino and kicked off of its back, flying into the bat and thrusting her sword out, but the bat was too fast, moving away. Jessica landed and saw the chameleon launch its tongue at her, tying her up as all of the beasts transformed into Kamen Riders, ready to destroy her. However, in this dream, she was saved by a wave of golden light that blinded the warriors.
“Stand down” a deep male voice said as Jessica saw her savior, another Kamen Rider that had a phoenix motif. “Jessica, do not be alarmed, this is all just a dream, for now.”
“What do you mean by for now, am I in danger?” she asked while the rider that helped her ran the others off. He raised his staff and made himself and Jessica transform back into their civilian state. Jessica looked at him. He was a Japanese man with long black hair, part of it tied in a ponytail. “This is what the future could hold. I have come to warn you that soon, a war between Kamen Riders will erupt.”
“Then how do I stop it?” she asked.
“I cannot tell you how; you will have to figure that out yourself” the man said before disappearing in a cloud of golden smoke, and Jessica woke up. She opened a drawer up and fumbled through it, until she found her Rider Buckle. “How can I stop it?” she said softly going back to sleep with the powerful item in her hand.
In a suburb of Los Angeles, Emily Smith was looking at herself in the mirror, modeling clothes that she was supposed to promote. She put her hands on her hips and displayed her figure, accentuating the chest area. “Who needs college when I have this?” she said, looking down at her body. It was one of the many reasons she was popular at her high school, the other major one being her dad’s stature as an important politician in her city, Spring Valley. She was about to model another pair when she got a text message.

Emily pressed some buttons and sent a message to her best friend, telling her to pick her up in an hour. The blonde went back to modeling her clothes, picking up a dark pink shirt with a silver manta ray on it, and immediately throwing it across the room. “Never going to wear that” she muttered as she looked in the mirror, and gasped at what she saw. “You” she said, shaking her head. “I thought I said I wanted nothing to do with this, and to go away forever.”
The figure shook its head no, and walked out. “Emily, you can’t suppress me forever, the time will come when you will need me.” The teenager backed up onto her bed. “What do you want?” Emily said, trying to get rid of what was in front of her.
“A war is about to erupt, and you are in danger” the figure said.
“No I’m not. I’m not like the others, I don’t care about these powers, I just want them gone” Emily cried. “Get out of my life, and never come back!” she yelled as the figure turned around and sighed. “You will learn your true destiny soon enough. Just protect yourself” the figure warned as it walked back into the mirror, and left a pink and silver belt behind.
The girl picked it up and looked at it. “Yeah, right; like my destiny is to be a Kamen Rider and a freak.” Emily took the belt buckle, a silver ray, and opened her window, throwing it out as far as she could. “At least now I can wear this belt” she giggled.
What she didn’t know was that the buckle was flying through the air, just waiting for the chance to help her.
Robert rode through a neighborhood in his van, looking for his targets house. He was armed with everything he needed for this mission, hoping that it would go perfectly. Soon, he found it; a medium sized brown house on the edge of the street, with tons of trees and shrubbery around. “This is even better than I thought” he whispered as he parked his car in the shadows and got out. He moved quickly through the darkness and onto the side of the house, where Alex Felding was watching television.
Pushing through the bushes, Robert took out a wire cutter and opened up a box and cut all of the wires, only caring that the phone line was cut. Sure of himself, the man sneaked into the dark house through a window, and climbed through. He took out a flashlight and looked around. This was Alex’s room, with numerous UFC posters and memorabilia. “Let’s see how good this fighter is in the dark.”
Downstairs, Alex was frantically looking for a lighter, needing light. When he couldn’t find one, he walked through the pitch black house, looking for the cordless phone to call Tristan. But when he found it, he realized that the line had been cut. “****, this doesn’t seem good” he cursed, knowing that something bad was going on.
“Your right, its not.” Alex turned around, and was quickly knocked to the ground by Robert. The silver haired man picked him up by his throat and pushed him up against a wall. “If you want to live, just do as you’re told.” Robert pulled out a roll of duck tape and put some over Alex’s mouth, along with a blindfold for his eyes. Quickly, he opened the door and through the black haired man into the road before locking him in the van. Now that he had Alex, there was one last thing to do. He pulled out a note and walked back into the house and left it on the dinner table for Tristan, and then left with Alex in tow.
