Good day, HJUers! Here's my Kamen Rider fanfic that is currently in its final editing stage. Basically it's an effort to infuse the "Neo-Heisei" Rider formula (Combos, Merchandise Overload, CG) into a Showa Rider-inspired story. I'll be posting the first chapter soon, but first I'll give some backstories about the main hero... and I hope it'll capture your interest. 
INFIN-8 (read: Infinite/Infin-eight) is the 8th model of the Kamen Rider system created by MASK. Unlike the previous models which were all tech-based, INFIN-8 is the first Rider system in the series to modify the human anatomy. It is also the first to use SG Cells to power up.

The Sargantia Group
In an alternate Japan, the whole nation’s economy fell under the mercy of one gigantic company, the Sargantia Group. Even the government cannot do anything to prosecute the tyranny of the members of Sargantia (collectively called Sargants). It also didn’t help that the Sargants are, actually, genetically modified kaijins.
The road to becoming a full-fledged Sargant is tough, not to mention deadly. One’s blood must be infused with SG Cells (contains a random animal DNA plus an unknown substance called Sargant-X), and not all humans are able to withstand the rapid body mutation. In one event, almost half of the entire population of Mirai City was obliterated because of Sargantia’s “mass hiring.”
In one meeting with the Sargant stockholders, the Company President, a youthful-looking woman who is only known by the name “Megami-sama (Goddess-sama),” told them about her dream of creating a new world ruled by only those who have been chosen by the gods to achieve the next stage in human evolution.

MASK (Movement Against Silent Killers)
Fighting the Sargants is an organization composed of former military and police personnel, who made a vow to stop the inhumane activities and goals of the Company: MASK (Movement Against the Silent Killers). The Movement encountered countless failures (and casualties) along the way, before they realized that the Sargants are too powerful to be overcome by simple weapons. Thus the MASK scientists invented fighting gears that will enhance the potential of its human user, making the user’s power at par with the Sargant kaijins: the Kamen Rider system.

INFIN-8's User: Toda Koji / "Jiyuu"
He is the son of Toda Satoshi, one of the pioneers of the Kamen Rider system and lead director of the INFIN-8 project. When MASK's headquarters in Mirai City was destroyed by the Sargants, he and his father went into hiding at a faraway mountain. There Satoshi continued to develop the INFIN-8 system, while he trained Koji (who was 16 yrs old at that time) so that later on his son will be capable of using it.
Four years later, the Sargants knew of their hiding place and raided it. Satoshi and Koji tried to escape, but a cave explosion separated the two, trapping Koji inside. At the other side of the rubble, Koji heard the Sargant soldiers kill his father and take the INFIN-8 system's prototype away.
Immersed in despair at the loss of his father and the thought of having no chance of getting out of the cave, Koji tried to kill himself using the dagger given by his father as a birthday gift. To his surprise, however, the dagger contained a secret message from Satoshi. It seemed that his father already knew that their situation would come to this and that he had already prepared everything for Koji in case he'll die. The message also told that the INFIN-8 prototype which the Sargants took away is fake and that the real, working version is securely hidden further inside the cave. Satoshi also seemed to have anticipated Koji being trapped because the secret message also revealed that there is another way out of the cave, and Koji can only access it if he goes into the chamber where the real INFIN-8 gear is hidden. Finally, the message told him that once he got hold of the INFIN-8 system, he should find the "Ultimate SG Cell" that will give him "infinite power" to fight the Sargants.
Strengthing his resolve, Koji set out to retrieve his father's last gift, the INFIN-8 system. As he stepped out of the mountain cave's alternate exit, he made a promise to his father memory that he will find the "Ultimate SG Cell" and obliterate all Sargants no matter what.
One year after that incident, Koji returns to Mirai City, his hometown, with a new name: Jiyuu (meaning 'freedom'). There he assumes the identity his father had prepared for him for a long time: the advocate of justice, the ray of hope, the Sargants' destroyer... Kamen Rider INFIN-8.
However, the road to being a Kamen Rider will not be easy for Jiyuu. The Sargants, led by the enigmatic "Megami-sama (Goddess-sama)" are stronger than ever before. He also needs to gain the trust of the members of the new MASK, especially his "senior," Kamen Rider S7OT (read: Slot), who is suspicious of Jiyuu's origin and motives.
