Kamen Rider Caster

Ultraman Saga wants you
Overview

1000 years ago, Gaia the Goddess of the Earth laid down her essence to the human race. With these powers that have been passed down to many generations, they serve Gaia and protect humanity, each of them transforming into Earth’s guardians, the Kamen Riders.
In Gaia’s name, they come to be known as Kamen Rider Caster (仮面ライダー伽栖汰亜/Kamen Raidā Kyasutah).

Present day, Aether the God of the Elements, seeks to overthrow Gaia by killing her Casters, thus leaving her powerless. Under his bidding to do so are a group of powerful Kamen Riders known as Mancers, each who control a specific element which Aether grants upon them.

His heretical desire has even led him to disrupting the balance of the barriers between our world and other dimensions, causing the outbreak of the Dreads, sadistic monsters that spawn on our grounds to wreck havoc and take lives to fulfil their thirst for blood.
The Kamen Riders have to now face this new breed of enemies who would kill them, Casters and Mancers alike, to protect humanity and to answer to their God.

But is this just a war between the Gods, or is there more than meets the eye in the face of this mindless hatred and bloodshed?

Kamen Riders

NOTE:
The Kamen Riders in this series are "factional" by name and distinguished individually by their forms. (i.e. Kamen Rider Caster Behemoth is really just Kamen Rider Caster, Behemoth form)
The finishing moves of all Riders are known as "Burst" moves

##Contains spoilers for first-time readers##

[HIDE]Casters

Casters are Gaia’s own set of Kamen Riders who have served her for 1000 years. Their powers are manifested into golden orbs known as Souls and are based on the planes of the Earth, being land, sea and sky. Their human counterparts access their powers through a device known as the Caster Buckle which the summon at the call of “Casterâ€. They can transform into Kamen Rider Caster with they call out “Henshinâ€.

Inserting their Souls into their Caster Buckle and spinning them would summon their respective Soul Beasts to aid them in combat. Transforming with a Soul Beast summoned would cause it to merge with the Caster's body, providing a much more powerful and unique form.

While each Caster has a Soul bounded to them, they are said to be interchangeable between one another.

Caster

First appearance: Episode 1
The form which a Caster would take by transforming using the Caster Buckle without the powers of a Soul. Despite the lacking, it greatly enhances its user’s attributes beyond that of a normal person as well as provides a very strong full bodied armor. [/HIDE]
Caster Behemoth
[HIDE]
casterbehemoth.jpg

"By the grace of Gaia;
I am the Caster who controls the plane of land and earth;
Kamen Rider Caster.. Behemoth"

First appearance: Episode 2
The form which a Caster would take with the Behemoth Soul in the Caster Buckle. It empowers the user with the power of the black stallion Behemoth, the Soul Beast of Land. Much stronger than the default Caster form and possesses the greatest speed amongst all other Caster forms.

Currently used by Clage after he succeeded the Caster powers of the previous Caster Behemoth, Kallas, at his dying moments. At first, he did not know what it means to be a Kamen Rider but slowly grows to accept his responsibilities. He still holds himself responsible for Kallas' death and continually fights the Mancers and Dreads in his honour.

Although being told of Aether's scheme, Clage believes that the Mancers were misguided into helping him and therefore resolves to avoiding conflict with them in efforts to convince them otherwise.

Skills/Spells:-
Shards – creates earth shards that spike out from the ground below the enemy.
Barrage – hurls rocks and broken pieces of the earth straight to an enemy.
Celeritas – a spell which greatly boosts the speed of the Caster. Downside of this is that it consumes much of the energy needed to move after.
Rider – by touching the Behemoth Soul and saying "Rider", the Caster summons the Landstrider. It takes the form of a dark motorcycle of bones which becomes the Kamen Rider's most useful mode of transport. In reality, the spell is actually the Behemoth Soul Beast embodying the form of a mode of transportation based on the era it is used on.
Behemoth Landslide (BURST) – by fully charging the Behemoth Soul, the Caster concentrates all of Behemoth’s energy to their leg and launches themself at the enemy with a devastating kick. A blurry image of Behemoth follows the Caster’s leg.
Behemoth Soulburst (BURST) – by fully charging the Behemoth Soul, the Caster concentrates all of Behemoth’s energy over the chest. It unleashes the raw form of Behemoth in a rampaging blast towards the enemy at the expense of the Behemoth armor.
Behemoth Siesm (BURST) - by fully charging the Behemoth Soul, the Caster concentrates all of Behemoth's energy over their fists. They would then launch themselves to the enemy and deliver a powerful crossed double punch with Behemoth's image following their movements. This was used by Elyz when she took Behemoth's form.[/HIDE]
Caster Leviathan

[HIDE]
casterleviathan.jpg

"By the grace of Gaia;
I am the Caster who controls the plane of sea and water;
Kamen Rider Caster.. Leviathan"

First appearance: Episode 9
The form which a Caster would take with the Leviathan Soul in the Caster Buckle. It empowers the user with the power of the black sea serpent Leviathan, the Soul beast of Sea. While slightly slower than the other Caster forms, Leviathan possesses the greatest strength especially in the arms.

Currently used by Elyz, who also happens to be the sister of the previous Caster Behemoth, Kallas, causing her much resent towards Clage. Realising the nature of his character, she comes to accept him as her brother's replacement and fights side-by-side with him. She also acts as a coach to him as she has far more experience than him.

Skills/Spells:-
Gush – creates a forceful stream of water out of the Caster’s hand towards the enemy.
Torrent - creates a gigantic slow-moving wave which acts as a defensive barrier against any incoming attacks. Enemies or objects caught in the wave would be pulled in by its immense current.
Potestas – a spell which multiplies the Caster’s strength, powerful enough to launch an enemy to the air.
Rider – similar to the Landstrider which is summoned by the Behemoth Soul, the Caster who uses this spell with the Leviathan Soul would summon the Seastrider which the Leviathan Soul Beast would produce.
Leviathan Tidalwave (BURST) – by fully charging the Leviathan Soul, the Caster creates a sea of water on the area surrounding the battlefield. Concentrating all of Leviathan’s energy to their arm, the Caster would surf through the surface and obliterate the enemy with a deadly punch. A blurry image of Leviathan follows the Caster’s arm.
Leviathan Typhoon (BURST) - by fully charging the Leviathan Soul, the Caster creates a sea of water on the area surrounding the battlefield. Concentrating all of Leviathan's energy to their leg, the Caster would surf through the surface and perform a jumping roundhouse kick. Leviathan's image would follow the traces of the Caster's foot. This was used by Clage when he took Leviathan's form.[/HIDE]
Caster Ziz

[HIDE]The form which a Caster would take with the Ziz Soul in the Caster Buckle. It empowers the user with the power of the Soul Beast of Sky, Ziz. Not much is known about this form as the Caster who wielded the Ziz Soul has not been seen and is speculated to be dead.[/HIDE]

Mancers

Mancer’s are Kamen Riders who serve directly under Aether, the God of the Elements. Their powers are manifested into large ancient coins known as Mancer Coins with the motive of the elements of the earth. When they call out “Mancerâ€, they summon a gauntlet-like device called the Mancer Guard, over their left or right hand which they would place their Coins into. By spinning the coins and saying “Henshinâ€, they would transform into the Kamen Rider Mancer of their element.

As explained through out the series, each Mancer requires a unique physiology in order to use a certain Mancer Coin, making them not interchangeable between each other. It is also because of this attribute that Mancers lack a "default" Mancer Form like the Casters.

There are six Mancers in total. They act under a military initiative which Aether has formed known as Prism. The current Mancers and their elements are:

Strand (Leader, N/A)
Aderil (N/A)
Lucas (metal)
Dacia (water)
Barett (earth)
N/A (N/A)

(in order of appearance)

Mancer Neos
[HIDE]
mancerneos.jpg

“I am the Mancer that manipulates the very form of metal;
Kamen Rider Mancer.. Neosâ€

First appearance: Episode 4
The Mancer of metal (a.k.a. Neomancer). It is assumed by Lucas and is the first Mancer to appear in the series.

A cheerful man who has never taken things seriously, he blatantly admits that his entire reason of becoming a Mancer is the excitement of holding powers that no other man could. Although there are times when he could become very serious on certain situations. He is seen to be relatively close to Barett, another Mancer.

Skills/Spell:-
Manipulating the shape of metal into any desired form, particularly using iron staff which he carries with him. Forms that have been seen so far are a giant shield and a deadly iron whip.
Neos Metalquashing (BURST) – consists of liquidating close by metal objects to form a giant metallic spiral around his iron staff. It then spins into an enormous drill which is used to obliterate the enemy beneath without leaving any traces.[/HIDE]
Mancer Aquas

[HIDE]
manceraquas.jpg

First appearance: Episode 7
“I am the Mancer that manipulates the very flow of water;
Kamen Rider Mancer.. Aquasâ€

The Mancer of water (a.k.a. Aquamancer). The second Mancer to fully appear and is taken by Dacia.

She is convinced that the Casters would somehow cause the destruction of the Earth, thus driving her to eliminate them as a Mancer, although she is shown to have an apparent fear for Aether and what he is capable of. She is also thought to harbour some feelings for Clage after he saved her from a Dread ambush.

Skills/Spell:-
Creating and shooting jets of water from her hands. Contact with these leave a very powerful impact.
Aquas Watercannon (BURST) – summons and accumulates most of the surrounding water of any form into a giant sphere and launches itself at the enemy.[/HIDE]
Mancer Geos

[HIDE]
mancergeos.jpg

“I am the Mancer who manipulates the very soils of earth;
Kamen Rider Mancer.. Geosâ€

First appearance: Episode 13
The Mancer of earth (a.k.a. Geomancer). Taken by Barett.

He claims that his purpose of being a Mancer is to be the most powerful Kamen Rider of all. Due to their similarities in power types, Barett holds a certain rivalry towards Clage to prove himself. Although he is downright disrespectful to Strand's authority, he holds a certain respect for Aderil.

Skills/Spell:-
Mancer Geos has a greater control over the element of earth than Caster Behemoth. Besides sharing the same abilities, he could break earth and rock pieces freely and send destructive energies through the ground
Geos Earthbreaker(BURST) – sends multiple bolts of energy through the ground that seeks any targeted enemies like underground missiles. Upon range, it will explode beneath them with an implosion sizable to tens of landmines [/hide]

Gods and Other Characters

[hide]
Gaia

- The Goddess of the Earth. The physical manifestation of her powers are what made the Casters' Souls. She is seen to be motherly and very protective, but at the same time could be very cunning and sinister, especially at the face of her nemesis, Aether. Her hostility towards him suggests that their bitter rivalry had spanned for a very long time.

Aether

- The God of Elements. Much like Gaia, the Mancer Coins which his Kamen Rider use are the physical form of his own powers. He has been shown to possess many different personalities as shown to all his current Mancers. He is particularly cold to Strand and tests his relationship with Aderil, whom he constantly summons for conclave.

Aether is thought to be the one responsible for allowing the Dreads' initial passage to Earth's dimension. Although he has never claimed to be accountable for it, he is seen to have a non-hostile relationship with the Dreadlord.

The Dreadlord

- Master of the Dreads. His purpose for invading the Earth and terrorizing its denizens is never clear. The Dreadlord is cruel and remorseless by nature to his subordinates.

Despite his relationship with Aether, he seeks to destroy all Kamen Riders, both Casters and Mancers alike, depending on how much of a threat each of them may individually become.

Kallas

- The Caster Behemoth before Clage and Ely'z elder brother. A mysterious man who stumbled upon Clage on his journey to find a certain replacement. He died from saving Clage from a Dread, thus leading him to entrust his powers as a Kamen Rider to him.

Strand

- The military commander of Prism as well as the assigned leader of the Mancers. He is shown to have an intimate relationship with Aderil. Despite been much tension between him and Aether, he tries patiently to accept his authority in the initiative to eliminate the Casters.
He is also a Mancer, though his Mancer form has never been seen yet. His Mancer Coin is translucent and colorless, allowing light to pass through. Strand's purpose of being a Mancer has yet to be known.

Aderil

- The Second-in-command of Prism. She is shown have a very weak body that reacts dangerously to her use of her Mancer Coin, which is a solid purple and is claimed by Aether to be the second most powerful among Mancers. Her Mancer form has yet to be seen properly due to the blinding speed she could travel with it, suggesting powers of time manipulation. Her reason for becoming a Mancer has yet to be known.

Jeina

-Clage's caring cousin who took him after he was banished from his household. Was went into a coma after being caught in an accident from Clage's fight with Barett and some Dreads.

its supposed to be a prologue but kinda long for one, so i call it episode 0 =P
thanks for the comment, btw =)

Actually, if you extend the passing of the Kamen Rider abilities you could provide a setup for later chapters. Read the fic I posted for a somewhat general idea.

hey, thanks for the tip =)
i'll try to do it as best as i can since this is what i'm in to right now
also, i'm thinking of drawing out the rider(s?). though i'm not very good at it, i wanna share the idea at the very least.

My friend is writing his own KR called Kamen Rider Sonus. I've been his consultant since the beginning of said project. He has drawn his out as well.
I on the other have written more than I have drawn, leaving not much to my Rider besides the Rider himself and the suit.
http://uchiha-shakezoola.deviantart.com/ Check out my DA and look at the KR I drew. I recommend finding what inspires you most and making a Rider out of it.

Episode 1 – Caster

“Damnit Clage, run!! You know you can’t fight that!!”

Clage runs towards the Dread in front of him and throws a punch without fear, rather, without thinking. Dreads, fearsome creatures of many forms that possess powers of destruction, started appearing in parts of the world since a year ago. This one was silver, humanoid and had three pairs of red eyes. It was not much taller than Clage who just landed his punch on its solar plexus.

That punch would have knocked anybody out but it didn’t seem to affect the Dread. Clage looked at the Dread with shock across his face. He could tell, if this monster had a mouth it’ll be smirking.

Radiant silver energy started to emit along the Dread’s body. Clage lost all of his confidence to fear, he knew he was going to be killed.

“Clage, get down!!” yelled Kallas from behind. “HENSHIN!!”

All he could do was obey that first command that hit his mind, Clage ducked down facing behind, seeing Kallas himself being engulfed by a dark energy that launched him fast enough to throw a punch over Clage that was powerful enough to hit the Dread square across the gut, knocking it back a few feet.

Kallas looked at Clage and tells him to back off. Still, Clage was frozen, not by the fear of death but the surprise and awe of seeing his friend Kallas now donning a full brown armor with glowing yellow eye sockets.

The Dread tries to get up, gravely wounded by that blow, raises his arm and shoots a silver laser at the most vulnerable target in sight, Clage.

“Look out!” Kallas covers Clage with his own body and took the shot for him. His scream of pain could not even shake the stoned Clage, too much was happening in front of him for him to comprehend. Then he noticed that Kallas’ chest was glowing off silver energy through the brown armor, it almost went all the way through him.

The armor just seem to evaporate off Kallas as the Dread vanished without any trace.

“Kal! Kal, are you alright?!” The answer was quite clear, blood was flowing through his clothes from where he got pierced through. It was fatal. “J-Just hang in there!! I’ll go get somebody,” Clage desperate reacts and tries to leave for aid but was held back but Kallas with a firm grip.

“Clage.. Do you want to save the world from all this?..” Kallas mutters through the pain but the words were clear. “What the hell are you talking about?! You need help now!!” Clage attempts to leave again but Kallas’ grip gave no way.

“Kallas..”

“Tell me Clage..”

Looking at his friend, Clage could only think about all the murderous and disastrous acts that the Dreads commited. They were merciless and gave no warning when they ravaged the world a year ago. And now, the same thing had just happened in front of Clage.

“I do.. but i can’t.. Its not for me to do,” Clage could only say. It was true, he sincerely did want to stop the Dreads since the day of their outbreak. But he was just an ordinary human living like one.

Kallas looked at Clage across the eyes. Clage’s face would show signs of desperation to save his dying friend but was evaluating for something more.

“Then,” Kallas pulls Clage done forcefully enough to bring him to his knees in front of him “I shall give you power..”

Kallas’s hand glowed and created some sort of energy that sipped through him to Clage. Clage could not guess what was happening and could only let things unravel as they were happening in front of him.

It lasted for over ten seconds, when Kallas let off a sigh when it was over.
“What is this?..”

“I’m sorry, Clage.. Its a little irresponsible to do this, but now you have the duty to fight the Dreads.. and your enemies..” Clage’s eyes widened at the emphasis of ‘enemies’.

“I don’t know what’s..”

“You’ll know when it’s time..” Kallas’ body started to glow brightly but still keeping its form.

“Kallas!!”

“You will now take my place in this war.. Stay strong and don’t die.. Kamen Rider..”

Kallas’s body let off a final bright glow before it mysteriously vanished. All that was left behind was a strange device. It was like an amulet, only that it had three spikes over an empty socket which was big enough to fit a small crystal ball in.

As Clage shakingly took the amulet, it shone and vanished into his hand.

He felt lost. His once simple world, he could not understand anything anymore.

Suddenly, he fell into a portal below him which seemed to be bottomless. As if gravity permitted, he was able to slowly regain his posture through that empty void. He had every right to be afraid, it was as if the world had died on him. A saintly light lit behind him, there was a person walking towards him. The light was so bright that he could only see its figure. Clage could only make up of a human one.

“Where is this? Who are you?!” he ordered the approaching person.

“Calm down, Clage. You are safe here,” the figure spoke with a feminine and motherly voice.

“How’d you know my name? Who are you?” Clage’s harsh tone took a mild change.

“The world needs your help, Clage. It will die faster without it.” Hearing this, Clage straighten his face.

“My name... is Gaia.”

===

Clage awoke from the same dream he had for the nights of the past few weeks. It was like an inevitable rerun of television programming. But that was not it to Clage, it was a constant reminder about his new purpose of living.

“...Stay strong and don’t die... Kamen Rider..”

====== KAMEN RIDER CASTER =====

“Mornin’ Clage,” greeted Jeina, “a little late this time, you know.”

“Morn.. And since when I was ever early?” Clage joked.

“Meh,” there was no staler response that Jeina could give.

Clage went to the doorstep to put some shoes on. “Going for a jog.”

“Sure, sure.”

My name is Clage. I live with my cousin, Jeina.

I don’t work, but Jeina lets me stay in exchange for doing the house chores. After all, the only thing I’m good at is fighting.

...fighting...

I was an underground ring fighter once, until I got into the wrong side of play and got banned ever since. It also didn’t help that I kept starting fights outside of matches. It was what I lived on for the first few years since graduating from high school. Now I do small jobs at the freight depot not far off the city. That is, only when their workers won’t take the shifts.

Couldn’t say I’m accepted by the community. My parents see me as the problem child and even shunned me. I don’t care, I was giving them enough problems already. Besides, all I ever did was hang out in the pubs and get drunk. The only family member that was willing to support me was Jeina, though it wasn’t a decision that went well with the rest of the family. Then there was Kallas...

“Look out!!..... Kal, are you alright?!...... I shall give you power.....”

Kallas... To be fair, I hardly knew him. He just came into town one day saying that he was looking for someone and was here for about two months. He said he didn’t even know who that someone would be, but then again, I didn’t even remember how we met nor how did we get so close. But I was able to be of some help to him by reaching out to the darker side of society for him, being infamous during my time it wasn’t a problem. Though I couldn’t say I was comfortable with them around.

====================

Observing Clage through an illusionary wall stood Gaia.
She was a woman with streaks of silver hair and had a delicate piece of white silk cloth to cover he mouth. Her figure would tell that of a young woman, though it was concealed by a full body cloak that would glitter every once in a while.
“It’s time to shine, Clage,” she thought to herself.

====================

Clage was just catching his breath at the park. It was a weekend morning and children were out enjoying the morning with their parents. Sights like these make him smile. Many thought of him to be a rough man, but Clage has a fairly soft personality greatly overshadowed by his outlook. There was nothing particular about him besides looking like a delinquent who would just vandalise anything he sees. Clage would always tell himself “Guess that means I’m still young and immature.”

“Clage..”

A voiced reached within his head, catching Clage off guard and looking ready for a fight. It couldn’t be helped, it was a trained reflex.

“Gaia?” he said out loud. This was the first time Gaia had any form of contact with him since that incident two weeks ago.

“Brace yourself, there’s going to be a Dread spawning about two miles south from here.”

“Where are you?” Clage yelled out in the open air. The families were observing him talking to thin air with suspicion and caution. He might be another mad man that might attack them suddenly.

“I’m nowhere near you. I’m communicating through our mind link. And you do know that you can just use your thoughts to do the same, right?”

By now, Clage realised the awkward situation he was in when several eyes were fixed on him. “Excuse me,” he said to a family but managed to get them to grab their children and run. He could only laugh at himself so timidly.

“I hope you are ready, Clage. I believe this one is the same from the one you saw before.”

Clage could think of the silver Dread that killed Kallas. And then he couldn’t help to think that it was his fault that Kallas was killed at the first place...

“Make haste. There’s no telling when it will strike.”

Clage slaps himself to return from his thoughts.

“Got it,”
he thought deeply this time.

Two miles south, running would take too long. Clage grabs the first bike he sees and cycles off.

“Help, thief!!” someone was shouting at the back.

Realising what he had just done, Clage loses his balance and almost crashes on a fence.

“I’ll return it to you in a couple of hours!” he yelled back, hopefully it doesn’t land him in any trouble. There is too much urgency to let something like this to deter him from getting forward.

====================

Clage reached a small neighbourhood to where Gaia led him. “I hope i’m not too late,” he thought to himself. He needed to be sure.

“Gaia!” Clage tried to call out Gaia in thought. There was no response. He wasn’t sure it was going to work either, it was his first time trying to reach out to her.

Suddenly, a small explosion and screams were heard from a distance, not too many blocks from where he was. “There!”

Fresh clouds of smoke were created by the explosion as Clage gets to the scene.

“HEY!!”

There was a person standing in front of the rubbles caused by the explosion. Only that it wasn’t a person. It turned its head and saw Clage with the same six eyes.

“Haven’t I seen you somewhere before?” the silver Dread laughed at Clage.

So they can speak, Clage thought.

“I’m gonna stop you once and for all!”

“Can you? Even your friend couldn’t”. At that moment, Clage remembers Kallas’ dying moment and how he just disappeared in front of him.

“I’m not the same as before,” Clage challenged the Dread.

“HAHAHAHA!! You humans get more amusing every time I see you,” the Dread glares at Clage, sharpening all his eyes. “But who am I to stop someone from their dying wish. If you want to die that badly, then I’ll humour you.”

Saying this, long blades suddenly slit out of the Dread’s wrist as he gets ready for a kill.

Holding up his left hand over his right shoulder, Clage understands what he has to do.

“Caster..” he mutters. This summoned the same amulet that Kallas left behind at the time of his death. Only it wasn’t an amulet, it was a buckle.

“Ooh, so that’s the way it is,” the Dread continued looking down on Clage.

With the buckle at hand, Clage firmly places it on his waist, when it envelops along Clage with solid energy that formed a perfectly fitting belt.

“Henshin”

Saying this, the buckle glows a dark brownish light and started to cover Clage from head to toe. Then it releases it like heat wave, unveiling the new form that Clage had taken.

caster.jpg

It was a simple dark gray armor and solid black plates with bright yellow eye sockets. The buckle which was bright gold was now void black.

Seeing this, the Dread gets into a serious battle stance.

“I am Kamen Rider.. Caster!!” Clage charges towards the Dread and throws the first punch. Unlike last time, this one was able to hurt the Dread.

“This is amazing, it must have amplified my strength,” Clage thought in amazement. The Dread took this as an opening and lunges his blade on Clage. But Clage was sharp enough to evade it and lands a knee right on its stomach. It falls on the ground in pain but manages to get up .

“Now let’s try something,” Clage focuses to concentrate energy to his left arm.

“Gaaaahh!!” the Dread charges in rage and Clage attempts to shoot out the energy out of this arm... but nothing happened.

“Wha?..” his idea failed and was at the receiving end of the silver Dread’s kick, blowing Clage a few feet away. The pain was considerable even with the armor plates on. He wouldn’t want to guess what would happen if an ordinary civilian was the one to take the hit.

Now it was the Dread’s turn to concentrate his energy. It was a familiar scene, where it would shoot out a piercing silver laser that might go through anything. As its hand started to glow, Clage immediately took action.

“Oh no, you don’t!”

He jumps in the air and lands an aerial kick on the Dread’s head. The Dread loses his focus and lost the energy he was about to shoot. Clage jumps again to land another kick. This was greatly wounding the Dread as it started to pant deeply and started having difficulty in getting back on its feet.

“This is where it ends,” Clage says as he focuses energy on his right foot, ready to launch a fatal kick.

“HAHH!!” he yells as he jumps five feet in the air and shoots himself to the Dread, his foot was glowing a brutal dark energy. Just moments before the kick came in contact, the Dread shot out its laser at a nearby house, damaging it greatly. But Clage’s kick was more significant. It let out a small explosion on contact which sent the Dread flying about twenty feet away.

The damage he inflicted was would have destroyed a truck but the Dread was still alive and grieving in pain.

“They are tougher than I thought.”

Then, another image seemed to appear behind the smoke. Much to Clage’s fear, it was another Dread.

“You’re so useless,” it said to its fallen brethren. This one looked similar to the first one but had three eyes instead, one of which was a huge eyeball which would have taken most of the features of the face.

“We’ll see you next time, Caster. Though shouldn’t you worry more on your surroundings?” the second Dread spoke.

Clage noticed and he was right. Light screams and cries were heard from the building that was just shot, there were still people inside as the house was showing signs of collapsing.

The second Dread took this opportunity to let loose some energy orbs in front of Clage, distracting him further as it left holes on the ground not too far from where he was standing on. Before he knew it, both the silver Dread’s were gone.

The screams grew louder in panic.

“Hang in there, I’m coming to save you,” Clage yelled in desperation.

But it was only after a few steps when the building’s foundation could not give in anymore and let the whole house collapse and the screams were no more.

Jolts of panic hit Clage, it was too late to save them.

“No... NO!!”

Episode 2 – Behemoth

“..A total death count of four people as the Dreads make their first attack in the past two weeks,” the news reporter announced on a live broadcast. “This is terrible,” Jeina said while watching television with a bag of chips. The door slowly swung open as Clage made his entrance back to the house.

“Ah, Clage where have you been? Kinda few hours long for a little jog, no,” Jeina said with her mouth stuffed with chips. “Is this one of your plans to make me all worried again?”

Clage ignored her as he made slow steps in the house. Jeina couldn’t tell what had happened but he created a heavy aura around him, as his face was buried in its own shadow.

“Clage?” Jeina’s tone became more concerning as she sees her cousin strut back into his room.

After a few minutes, Jeina decided to check out on him, only to see him sitting on the floor and staring blanking at the wall. She could not even remember the last time she saw him like this.

“Hey,” Jeina spoke while trying to be as comforting as possible. “What’s up?”

Clage turned to her slowly. His face was full gloom, gritting his teeth as he tried to contain his emotions.

====================

“So that’s your new Caster, huh?” a male voice spoke behind Gaia as she was watching Clage in her world of void.

“I thought you know better than to sneak up on me like that,” she replied.

“Yeah well, what would you do?” he challenged her. “Kind of a pity, isn’t it? The previous one sure was a gem of a Rider. What was his name again? Kallas, was it?”

“Circumstances have changed.”

The male character looked through the wall with Gaia, judging Clage for himself.

“Kinda frail. Won’t last long the way I see it,” he besmirched on Clage. “Are you sure he’s up for it? Considering how he inherited the powers and all.”

“That’s where you and I differ,” Gaia replied bitterly. Then she thought to herself:

“He must be a strong enough Rider. He has to.”

====== KAMEN RIDER CASTER =====

“Hey, should I get this one? Oh, this one looks good too!” Jeina excitedly asked Clage. They were out shopping for clothes.

“Pfft, just buy them all.”

“Huh, what a killjoy.”

“But at least this was better than yesterday,” Jeina thought to herself.

====================

Jeina was staring at Clage, who looked like he would just burst out all of his emotions, but instead just sat still like any other furniture in the room.

“What’s up?” Jeina said as she tries to get a response from him. He would just stare at her, his eyes were empty and his face was blank. Silence took over for over a minute, and she thought long and hard.

“That’s it, we’re going shopping tomorrow,” Jeina declared.

“Wha?..” Clage managed to say, while keeping his stillness.

“I don’t know what you’re sulking about but whatever it is, keep it to yourself by all means. Besides, a good shopping therapy will make anyone bright and all smiley!” Jeina proclaims brightly as she starts thinking of things to buy. The average shopaholic.

“But I..”

“Ahh, shoosh shoosh,” she stops Clage from completing his sentence. “There’s no arguing, you’re going to the mall with me tomorrow whether you like it or not. Besides, you could use some new clothes.” She was right, Clage’s wardrobe would only have 5 sets of clothing the most.

“So its decided,” Jeina commands. “Oh, and I’ll be making dinner later. Snuck yourself in bed and get your mind straight.” After saying this, she leaves and closes the door, leaving Clage in his own privacy again. Then he just lied on the wooden floor. He was thinking back at what happened.

He knew he couldn’t save them even if he had time, but that was not where the guilt lies. It was the fact that the Dreads are strong enough to cause it, and that he was not strong enough to stop it...

====================

“Sir, the footage is here.”

“Alright then, let’s see it,” the leader said to his man.

The tape was played and was projected on a white screen. It was the same scene where Clage was fighting the Dread. Everyone in the room was silent as they watched. The leader was in deep thought.

“So... The previous reports are false, I suppose,” he said to his men. They were too shaken to answer.

“It s-seems so, sir,” one of them managed to pull the courage to respond.

“Tsk,” the leader clicked his tongue, which was enough to create even more unease in the room. By that time, the footage ended. The leader put his hands together and was back to his thoughts.

“Well, if you would allow me,” a man in the corner said confidently, breaking the silence. He was wearing a black jacket over a red shirt, unlike the other men in uniforms.

The leader stared hard at him and then said, “If you like, Lucas.”

“Alright then,” Lucas said as he leaves the room, swinging a long metal pole as the people around him try to avoid it.

“Get these reports renewed,” the leader commanded without even pointing at them, still watching Lucas as he exits.

“Yes, sir!”

“So you didn’t die after all,” he thought to himself.

“Caster...”

====================

By this time, Clage was carrying four bags of clothes on each hand. None of them were his.

“Hey Jeina, what are you gonna do with all these?”

“Wear them, of course. Like you couldn’t tell,” Jeina proudly explains.

“Really? I thought they were new curtains and bed sheets,” Clage talked back.

“Say what?!” Jeina retaliated. “Huh, well why don’t you just shut up and bask with this opportunity of being able to hang out with a gorgeous woman, such as myself.”

Clage just stared at her blankly, giving her a few blinks in return. Jeina puffed her face in frustration. But Clage laughed at the sight of this, causing Jeina to turn her back on him.

Once Clage was done laughing, he said, “You never change.”
But he knew what she was doing, and he appreciated the thought.

“But really though, thanks for all this.”

Hearing this, Jeina smiled. “You know, it’s been a long time since we did something like this.”

“Yeah,” Clage said as he reminisced.

Not far off from where they are, some suspicious eyes were watching them....

=== few hours later ===

“Man, I’m beat,” Jeina proclaimed. “It was a good idea coming here after all, I feel like myself again!”

“You don’t say..” Clage said as he saw the bags of purchases around them. They were outside the mall, sitting down in a boulevard.

“Oh, lighten up already,” Jeina had a look around. “Wait here, I’m gonna get us some ice-cream. My treat,” she said happily.

“Right, and I’m gonna be a watchdog for awhile and guard this stuff,” Clage said sarcastically. Jeina ignored him and left. Just by looking at her, Clage smiled.

“Clage.”

Clage jumped on his seat as he heard the familiar voice.

“Gaia?” he said out load, once again getting some unneeded attention before he goes back to thought.

“What is it? Wait, don’t tell me..”

“There’s trouble.”

Right after hearing this, three orbs flew and exploded around Clage, causing a thick cloud of smoke. The sudden explosion caused a huge commotion and everyone around the scene started screaming in fear and ran away.

“What the hell?!” Clage yelled, but soon knew what was going to unfold.

Two human images started to appear as the smoke cleared off. The two silver Dreads that Clage met yesterday were right in front of him.

“This time, I’ll finish you!” the six-eyed Dread declares, seeming to have fully recovered from its previous battle. His three-eyed partner said, “Easy there, do you want to get kicked flying off again?”
The first Dread became infuriated by this but the second continued and turned to Clage.

“Caster, we have a score we would like settle. Right now.”

“Well then, it’s not like I have a choice,” Clage said as he regained his posture.

“Caster!!” Clage summoned the buckle and placed it on his waist.

“Henshin”

Energy envelops Clage and gives him the form of Kamen Rider Caster.

“Now.. Two on one? Well I don’t care, bring it on!”

The Dreads look at each other, with the three-eyed one saying, “Sorry Caster, but we don’t intend to fight that way.”
Suddenly the first Dread screamed out load as his partner followed in tune. Clage watched as the both of them started to glow and almost liquidate like mercury. Assuming their liquid form, the two merged and began to solidify into a single silver Dread, no bigger in size but now with nine eyes.
“Now, we fight!” the new Dread roared.

It was the first to charge at Clage who took the hit square across the chest and hard. It was too fast for him to dodge. Several kicks followed but Clage was only able to block a few just by chance before he was sent few feet off the ground, landing hard on his back.

“Damn it, I won’t lose.”

Clage begins to focus energy to his arms and attempts to shoot it out of his hand but to no avail. “I don’t get it, why isn’t this working?!”

The Dread shoots more orbs at Clage and narrowly misses them. He then charges at it and throws a punch at its chest. Nothing happened as it willingly accepts the blow, mocking Clage sadistically. It then slams its palm over Clage’s face, sending him rolling several feet away.

“This can’t be happening,” Clage said to himself while trying to regain his posture. And to his worst fear, Jeina came running.

“Clage!! Clage, where are you?!”

The dread seemed to have taken notice of Jeina and shot a small orb not too far from her. It clearly missed but the impact sent her sideways as she screamed before hitting her head on a fence, leaving her unconscious.

“JEINA!!” Clage yelled desperately. “Why you...”

But more was to come, the Dread was charging up for an even bigger blow.

“Damn it!” Clage ran towards Jeina, grabbed her and ran away from the scene.

====================

Clage managed to carry Jeina into an alleyway far from the fight, out of the Caster armor.

“Jeina!! Jeina!!” Clage pleaded to her. She was fortunate enough to only suffer a slight cut on her head. But Clage feared for the worst, he knew he wasn’t strong enough to fight against an enemy of that kind. He couldn’t even think of what would happen if he were to lose as he looked at Jeina. And then he thought of something.

“Gaia!!” he yelled out in the air, desperate for a respond.

“Clage..”, Gaia replied in her casual tone.

“Gaia, please!! You gotta help me!!” Clage pleaded. But Gaia was silent and Clage continued, “Please, I... I need more power!!”

“You have all the power you need, Clage.”

“No, I don’t! Didn’t you see what happened back there?! Please, I...” Clage was breaking down. “I can’t lose like this,” he said looking over the unconscious Jeina.

“Even if I could give you power, it would be no different. It has to be earned”

“Are you saying I should go ahead and die like this?!” Clage shouted. He couldn’t recall the last time he was this angry and desperate.

“Listen Clage... Power doesn’t give you the strength to fight. It is your reason.
Your reason, to fight for what you love and believe in. That is where your strength lies.”

“My reason?..”

Then suddenly Gaia’s voice took a very cold and deadly turn.

“If you can’t make it from here, then you are unworthy."

That was all Gaia had to say, leaving Clage to fend for himself alone.

“My reason...” Clage said to himself. “My reason is...”

“Clage.. Do you want to save the world from all this?..”

He recalled Kallas’ words, that very moment, that time he became a Kamen Rider..
Then he remembered the first outbreak of the Dreads that took the world by surprise..
Then he remembered the fight yesterday, which caused innocent civilians to be killed..
Then he looked down, and saw Jeina..

“My reason..”

After a long thought, Jeina return back to consciousness, and wasn’t sure what was happening. All she could see was Clage holding her. Explosions were heard nearby, the Dreads are close.

“Clage, what is happening?” the shock and fear was apparent in Jeina’s voice. But after saying this, Clage gets up to his feet and marches out.

“Hey, where are you going? It’s dangerous!”

“Don’t worry. Everything will be alright,” Clage said reassuring.

He steps out of the alleyway and sure enough, the silver Dread was standing in front of him.

“Tired of running, huh? Well good, ‘cause it’s time to die!!”

Clage looked at the Dread with a newly found confidence in him.

“I won’t die. I can’t. Because I will kill you right here, right now.”

The Dread laughed menacingly. “So you’ve lost your mind too, huh? Well that’s just convenient! You won’t be needed in the society after all!!”

Clage looked back at the alley and saw Jeina peak her head out, watching the whole scene.

“I won’t die because I have a reason.”

“What did you say?” the Dread challenged.

“I won’t die because there are people that need me. People who rely on me to protect them. And I will protect them. And I will kill anything that will cause them harm!” Clage points. “And that includes you.”

Saying this, a small vortex started to form in front of Clage. It was bright yellow and created a small vacuum that sucked the air around them.

“What is this...” the Dread said at the unexpected incident.

Soon enough, the vortex cleared off and revealed a small golden crystal ball that was floating in front of Clage, who grabbed it without hesitation with his right hand.

“It is this reason.. that gives me strength,” Clage says as he brands the golden ball with his right hand. He then crosses his left hand over his right shoulder and chants, “Caster.”

He places the buckle on his waist and creates the belt. But this time, the spikes on the buckle opened, giving way to its empty socket, which Clage inserts the golden ball. As he does so, the spikes close in, holding the ball firmly in place. With this the buckle let out a very ancient but forceful voice which said:

“BEHEMOTH”

Looking at the Dread with a deadly glare, Clage chants.

“Henshin.”

As he says this, he spins the ball with his right hand, which released an immense light that a loud and ferocious neighing sound from a horse. As energy starts to cover Clage, the ground started to shake a little and a small black portal was appearing behind him. Suddenly, a large black stallion with flaming manes came running out of the portal and was charging towards Clage.

“Clage, look out!! Behind you!!” Jeina warned Clage urgently but he didn’t move from his spot.

As the stallion drew closer, Clage loosened his shoulders backwards as if ready to embrace the horse. Suddenly, it was as if the black stallion went through him like an illusion. It left a giant web a black energy coming out through Clage’s body before it was finally absorbed back into his body, releasing a small wave of energy behind him.

“What is this?” the Dread said as it took more caution. When the web finally took full form around Clage’s body, it was followed by another fierce neighing sound. It unveiled a new armor, like never seen before.

The gray armor was now brown, and while the plating remained black, there was a huge horse skull serving as a chest piece. Golden trimmings also followed around parts of the body that were not cover by the plates, as if they were veins. The head gear also took an unfamiliar turn.

“What is this?! Who are you?!” the Dread yelled showing anxiousness.

Clage looked up and said intensely:
“By the grace of Gaia, I am Caster who controls the plane of land and earth;
Kamen Rider Caster.. Behemoth!!”

“Huh, that doesn’t change anything. Die!!” the Dread tries to regain its confidence and charges at Clage. It threw the punch that had knocked Clage off previously, but this time, Clage manages to grab its fist before it came into contact. It then followed with a kick but Clage blocked it easily with his knee. With his other hand, Clage grabbed the Dread to lifted him with his new found strength and threw him in the air.

“Now I’ll show you my power.” Clage concentrates energy on his arm, and this time shoots deadly laser on the Dread whilst still airborne. It was hurt badly as it came crashing on the ground with a fresh wound on its left leg as it was hit from the laser.

“D-Damn you!!” The Dread roared limping. Then it came at Clage with a punch, which was only so easily dodged. They exchanged punched at rapid speed. With every punch that the Dread threw, Clage blocks it and delivers another two more.

Suddenly, the Dread screamed out load and causes an explosion beneath them. It didn’t affect Clage significantly but the Dread used this chance to escape.

“You’re not getting away,” Clage says as he concentrates energy around himself and as if casting a spell, he said, “Shards!”

With this, spikes rose from the ground close to where the Dread was running off to, blocking its way and knocking it off its feet.

“Time to finish this,” Clage declares as he presses and holds onto the golden ball in the buckle. It shone brightly gradually and Clage spun it when it glowed at its brightest. The belt then said out with the same voice:
“Behemoth - - - BURST” *neighing sound*

By this, the golden veins around Clage’s body started to fade. He then slowly tapped his right foot on the ground three times, lifting it in the air before the forth and slams it hard. This created a deadly dark brown energy over his right foot as the veins in his right leg exploded in gold light.

Not giving time for the Dread to steady itself, Clage does a back flip until his body was facing the floor. Then he was suddenly launched towards the Dread with his right foot charging towards it. A shadowy image of a large horse was travelling with Clage’s foot as it was about to make contact.

“BEHEMOTH - - LANDSLIDE!! HAAHH!!!”

With contact, the illusionary horse travelled from Clage’s foot through the Dread’s body before ending in a massive explosion. A dying scream was heard in the end but then Dread was finally defeated.

Clage finally catches his breath. As the buckle fades with his armor, the golden ball shoot itself forward and Clage catches it. Observing it further, he could see a dim image of a horse inside it.

“T-That.. That was amazing!!” Jeina exclaims from her hiding. “How did you... H-How.. I-I” she was clearly speechless. Clage didn’t even know the right choice of words to use for the situation.

“I’ll talk about it later,” he tries to delay. “We need to get out of here, the police and rescue workers will be here soon."

“B-But, c’mon! We gotta tell them what you did!” Jeina was brimming in enthusiasm.

“Jeina,” Clage said seriously. Jeina was trying to read the situation.

“Let’s go,” he said as he drags her by the hand. “Ehh?..”

Over the roof of a building at the scene, a man with a black jacket with a red shirt was watching the whole fight.

“Behemoth, huh?” he smirked. “Hmph,” he said as he left, smiling.

I can probably get into this story more, if I'd actually read a bio on the Kamen Rider and little bit about his powers. You just posted a prologue with no information on what this story is about or anything. I don't know what is going on here as you didn't post any vital information for me to look at before the prologue.

hey, thanks for the comment
Well, i had actually intended to explain a lil more in the next episode but i would also like to leave some room for plot twists.
Though im not a really good writer, i hope u enjoyed it so far =)
