well when the den-o 49 aired they already were done filming in 2007. they probably filmed climax deka in 2007 too. but that seems normal to me if it was in theaters in march. so he grows his hair this long and became Okada Yuya.

It's clip-on extensions. He's taken them off a couple times for Den-O events since Rookies started shooting, and still had Ryotaro hair underneath.
