Kamen Rider Amazon - Talkback

Aside from having some wacky designs, I think Stronger is pretty straightforward. It's moreso that it runs into the same problem a lot of the none-franchise Ishinomori shows had (the Kikaidas come to mind) of having a very simple episodic formula for most of the series (Good guys drive through some place, inevitably meet the bad guys, they fight, Good guys win) compared to the earlier shows, which spiced it up a lot more with rotating villains (and cast members, etc.) What really keeps it going is the villain bickering and Shigeru being such a badass, and particularly, the potential Tackle represents, if not Tackle herself (although I do like Tackle all the same.) Also, the last couple episodes? Solid gold.

And:

[HIDE]I find the episode where Tackle dies to be amazingly depressing for a 70's series.[/HIDE]

I think Super-1 is the silliest of the early shows, at least in the second half. But then again, someone actually exists who told FK it was the darkest one, so I guess it takes all kinds.

Aside from appearing at the end of RX, ZX just has one TV special, he never had his own full TV series, although he virtually had everything else- comics, photo compilations, etc. His was the show without a show.

Baddies being dismembered, heads being chopped off, people falling on spikes.... I love it. Amazon is a definate classic Rider series to watch.

I hope Stronger will be as good as X and Amazon have been.

I think it's a bit wackier (not necessarily lighter, just wackier) than X, but if you could handle Kumo-Napoleon, you should be able to handle anything Stronger throws at you. And the last 10 or so are really good, and worth watching the rest of the show for (especially #30.)

what i really liked about amazon was the gentle side to Daisuke Yamamoto that gave way to the growling and biting animal that is Amazon. i really enjoyed his growth in learning how to speak and the way he easily made friends with his innocent attitude while he protected his friends with this savage intensity ... i really liked it. i also liked stronger, Shigeru was definitely a badass, but V3 will always be my favorite. the image of V3 standing on the shore with the mushroom cloud out over sea hearing the words of ichigo and nigo is something i will remember for a long time:bawling:
