Las Vegas, Nevada, once a bustling center of tourism that always seemed to be full of life but now it was noting but a pit of dead ruins within a sea of dirt just like every other city on earth ever since the wars began. The days when the people of earth seemed to thrive had been long gone ever since the new Orphenoch King arose and launched his human holocaust which resulted in the brutal deaths of numerous humans all over the world. Of course it was only natural for the humans to retaliate with their own weapons of war, and with the launching of many WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction) that wrought destruction all over the world while taking out many Orphenochs, as well any unfortuneate humans who were too close the the bombing sites, which were numerous.
The world's population is only 15% of what it used to be, and with the large amount of destruction that it caused, one would assume that the two sides would stop the fighting and focus on rebuilding. Unfortuneately the fighting has only seemed to increase as both sides continue to fight for control of whats left of earth. Neither group seems to realize that their fighting can only make things worse than they already are, and thus just continue fighting against each other. Though there are some who know that it must end, unfortuneately they are scattered and have little to know influence over either side.
Will Valens, one of those who seeks to end the fighting stood near the entrance of the refugee camp that had been established within the ruins of Las Vegas, unfortuneately for the refugees the group known as the Mortal Resistance had a base established there, meaning that it would be a prime target for the Orphenoch forces. Sure the humans in the settlement respected their purpose, but it didnt change the fact that the Mortal Resistance attracted pissed off Orphenochs like a magnet made them worried. Thats where Will came in, he was a drifter with no one place to call home. He went from place to place doing what he could to help in exhange for a place to sleep and some food to sustain himself. It wasnt an easy living, but these days no one lived an easy life. On this particular occasion Will had been hired to help deal with any threats to the settlement. While most were glad for his help anyone affiliated with the Mortal Resistance was vary wary of him, and there were no less than three people with guns aimed at him at all times. He would put up with it for the time being though. at least until he saved up enough supplies to move onto the next settlement.
As usual he stood outside the settlement with a pair of binoculars, keeping a watchful eye out for any threats that may be heading there way, wether it was a feral Orphenoch (an Orphenoch that has been overtaken by animal impulses), a group of raiders of either kind or an Orphenoch attack force he would uphold his end of the deal and take them down. "It's hotter than usual today.." he said while wiping some sweat off of his forehead and taking a drink of water, which unfortuneately wasnt too clean, fresh or even cool, before resuming his watch. He saw some sort of movement off in the distance, unsure if it was a friend or foe for the moment he walked over to one of the local kids, who was one of the few children still alive in this messed up world. "Hey kid, tell anyone with a weapon to stay alert, something is heading our way." he told the boy before the kid ran off to relay the message. "Cant stand those Resistance bastards, but I gotta put up with them for now.." he muttered as he took the Psyga phone out of his coat and waiting for whatever it was to get a little closer.
((Note: both sides posses groups of soldiers that use the Riot Trooper gears, the human versions are just modified for human use and any soldiers from either side are pretty much NPCs.))
