Kaiju Girls Anime (Ultraman Spin-off)

[Toku Prime]

"Humanity's battle of many years with the kaiju, giant monsters, has finally come to an end.
Now that Earth has entered an age of peace, girls with the souls of kaiju have begun to appear, giving them the ability to transform into kaiju.
They are known as the Kaiju Girls, and this is the powerful, transient, beautiful, and at times easygoing story of the strange fate these girls bear."

Crunchyroll has announced that starting today(!) it will be streaming the series of anime shorts called Kaijū Girls ~Ultra Kaijū Gijinka Keikaku~ (Monster Girls ~Ultra Monsters Anthropomorphication Project~).

Based upon a four panel gag manga, it re-imagines monsters from the Ultraman franchise as chibi girls who use their "Soulriser" devices to summon the powers of the monster whose soul inhabits their body (and also gain a costume based on that monster). Characters will include Agira, Miclas, Windom, Pigmon, Zetton, Red King, Eleking, Gomora and Zandrias. The character designs were created at Nitroplus and the series is being animated by Studio Puyukai.

The first episode was made available worldwide outside of Asia from 3am PT, and further episodes will be released on Mondays @ 9pm PT. Episodes will be around five minutes in length.

As I said in the original post, it's being streamed by Crunchyroll. So you can watch all 12 episodes for free over on their site.
They're just five minute chunks of cuteness, so don't expect much action or plot. Just a little slice of gentle humor.
