If anything seems to be performing well in theaters lately, it’s anime. Historically the box office numbers for theatrical anime releases have paled in comparison to their domestic competition, but with recent hits like Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, the times may be changing. Jujutsu Kaisen, another rising anime property, is about to debut its first big-screen story…will it find success too?

This Shounen has a movie now?! I love this series because the characters are well rounded. Most Shounen sidelines the support characters, especially girls. The characters here feel essential, even if they are minor characters only. Yuji is also a Unique protagonist because the moment he realizes he will die, He makes sure his death will mean something. The dude is helping out people who are intended to kill him. He is not the run of the mill Shounen protagonist who wants to be the best at something.
