japan throws another insult in the face if rape of nanking victims

it was an area in china that was occupied by japan during world war 2, while they occupied it, they raped their women and made them into "comfort women" for their soldiers, looted, killed, and performed pratically every single known attrocity to man to it's inhabitants

the worst part is that when the war ended, pratically all of japan's records of the event were destroyed in a desperate attempt to cover it up.

the rape of nanking has been called the forgotten holocaust, japan's most recent history textbooks either don't mention the event or call it the "incident in nanking" in an attempt to downplay the tragedy

to this day no formal apology from the government has ever been given to the victims, any anti-japanese sentiments that most asians have is most likely due to this incident

Hm.... man, I don't know what to say.

The world has a pretty terrible way of rewriting history, getting away with it, then getting exposed to having it rewritten again.

I remember a movement that tried to say, "C'mon... slaves in the American South weren't treated that bad."

To which the entire world answered... :eyebrow:

Yeah, these cover up attempts have been going on for years. :/ I just hate how they often say other countries are faking these pictures, reminds me of the holocaust deniers.

Please! like we're any better. in my entire Educational career. Public and College I had only ONE history textbook in the 6th grade that mentioned the American Japanese Internment camps.

Well, yeah, I wouldn't expect many public schools to carry this subject. But the difference is that we don't hide it, you're free to go read about it if you want and there are obviously classes where you learn stuff like this beyond high school. I can't imgine this is a subject they would touch on during public school.

I had classes that spent weeks on the holocaust, but made no mention of what america was doing around that time.

And Keith...room, board, a stable work enviroment.:169: ... too much?
