I've been offered a new home... Need advice

I received a phonecall a couple of hours ago from my Aunt Mavis concerning a new property for me to move into now that I'm on my own and the place that I live in is too big for me and it seems that I've been offered a two-bedroom flat in the new housing area that was completed recently near the church where my Gran's funeral service was held and which in itself is only a short walk from where I live myself.

I'm in two minds about moving in because even though I want to move on with my life and make a new start, I was hoping to move to Liverpool although if all goes well with this interview with an employment agency in Manchester that I'm having on Wednesday, I might be working in Manchester instead!

I'm going to take a look through the windows at the place that's been offered later on because it's empty but I'm also going to ask my aunt if she can arrange for me to take a look inside the place as well so I can get a feel of it because if I do decide to move in, I have a lot of stuff that'll need to be moved in including my books and comics amongst other things...

So what do you think I should do? Should I move in after I've seen the place and decide that I like it or should I hold out for somewhere in Liverpool even tho it may be worse than what's being offered right now?

I'd hold off a bit and see how the agency thing works out first.

It looks like I might have no choice about moving into the new flat concerned as I spoke to the local housing officer today and he said that if I didn't choose between the new property and this other property which is an 1 bedroom flat in the old area of Castlefields and which is really grotty as I've been through that part of Castlefields before, I'll get taken to court...

In any case, the guy concerned is going to show me around the place later today so I can have a good look around...

Meanwhile, it seems that I won't be allowed to have Sky TV if I move in as the developers didn't think that people would want to have satellite TV so the housing association that owns the properties are looking at having a big satellite dish installed so that everyone in the area will be able to get Sky, but until then, I'll be probably without my Jetix/Toonami/Full Metal Alchemist fix for a while.

As for Liverpool, I'll definitely be looking at moving there as soon as possible as there's a scheme where you can bid for housing and I'm looking for a place near the city centre.

It's going to be weird moving away but I guess I have no choice...

I'd just take the new place, it sounds a lot better than the other choice you've got. The place is a little big for one person, but you can probably take in a roommate later on.

Have made my final decision

After much difficult soul-searching and a final viewing earlier today of the new flat that I was offered by the housing association, I decided to take it as there were no two bedroom bungalows available either in Runcorn or Liverpool from the housing association that my late gran rented from, and in any case, it's better than living on the streets.

After everything's been sorted out, I'll start moving in just before or after my birthday which is on the 13th of March so it'll be a very unusual if sad birthday present indeed....

I'm going to miss where I'm living at the moment as it holds lots of memories both good and bad and I'm not ashamed to say that I shed a few tears today at the thought of moving but I guess I have to move on...
