Saw it Thursday - need to see it again!
I had my reservations. I knew Robert Downey Jr. would be brilliant. (I kind of fell in love with him in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.) But I wasn't really sure of anything else... a lot of comic book adaptations are hit and miss. And in all honesty, aside from Batman Begins - I haven't been feeling much love. (Yes, that includes Spidey.)
But really? This completely renewed my faith - I guess it is a testament to Marvel Studios? I mean, the film was brilliant. Maybe not in the sense of a perfect script or anything like that - but the cast, the balance of humor and drama, and the whole story of Tony Stark and his journey... That was just wonderful.
As much as I was looking forward to The Dark Knight - I think Iron Man is going to be my movie this summer. I love a good angst-fest, but I like having FUN. And that's what Iron Man was for me. Good fun, with the right amount of drama and tension to get my heart pumping.
And I know I repeating everyone, but YES. RDJ IS Tony Stark. I'm so in love.
God. I've been fangirling over this movie since I've seen it. I guess I have to test to see if this love holds up after multiple viewings.
