It said they have only pitched the series, even if it is picked up that doesn't mean that it would get published even near finished projects get pulped. And while I enjoy the "Forever" line it is not the best thing Marvel has done recently and could end up hurting them in the long run. Bringing back old writers to work out old plots is great for a miniseries or two but anymore than things get quickly stagnant.
Not really, that's just because modern fans are so used to decompression, another word for "Lazy fucking writing", which also happens to apply to modern fans lazy, brittle tastes.
As for fans crying that these comics are the salvation of Marvel need to get over their nostalgic wallowing and realize that it is hypocritical when the very same writers achieved their accolades by upending the status quo and experimenting
"Nostalgic wallowing"...oh yes Little Miss Hypocrite, DO try and cover up the fact that most of the mainstream shite is fuelled head and shoulder by glorifed NOSTALGIC FANFIC
I love how people use "nostalgic" like it's some kind of detremental quality...a lot of the old-school stuff is ALWAYS better than the modern bile...there written by FOLLOWERS, not LEADERS...but go on, keep reading about Black Cat getting raped, deals with the devil, needless wars over registration politics, the public being dumb enough to follow Norman Osborn, and other pedantic shock tactic stunts.
You've got NOTHING when it comes to whatever high horse you've conceived for yourself.
Not to mention the older writers evolved the characters RESPECTFULLY and didnt take a billion steps backwards and raped every character to "cheat" their way into their current status quoes, with several older fans pissed off and the creative teams trolling one another as far as continuity goes
And plus this all becomes suspect when there is mention of Marvel offering John Byrne work.
Byrne himself acknowledged it and even drew up a spec logo for the title
