Infinite ~ Ryvius

It's Judgement Time!
I'm sure some of you guys have seen this one. Just got done watching it and I loved it from start to finish. It's pretty much story and dialogue driven. It does have some Mecha action and some action in general but the selling point of the anime is the story, the characters, the personalities, and the drama that unfolds.

It's basically Lord of the Flies but in space. And if you dont know what "Lord of the Flies" is then shame on you and your school. It's a great book and a good movie. Check it out, definitely. If not the book, at least rent the movie and see what it's about.

But Infinite Ryvius is a lot like that. Kids stranded on a space ship with no where to go. They try finding help but no one helps them. Everyone is trying to kill them. They have nothing to do but survive.

Well it's a simple concept and it may sound boring to people looking in from outside but it's not. I was really dragged in from the very start. One thing I love is the personalities. I always hated the stereotypical japanese boy personality where they hesitate, take forever to react to something, and just stand there not being confident in anything they say. I mean **** man, do something. Say your mind!

Not these characters. They are quick, say their mind, and they act. Yes the main character does have the typical traits of a generic Japanese Boy character but his personality is really good and quick. He makes up for it in a alot of different ways.

Either way it's a great series. I had a great time watching. If you love action fests or a Good vs Evil type deal then this isn't it. But if you're looking for a good drama with an interesting plot and great progression and character development then this is for you. This was just wow. I loved it.

It got to a point where it all felt hopeless for the characters. Like there would be more tragedies than actually ensued, ultimately. I couldn't imagine how it would end, because it felt like the only way it could end was in their own destruction. It felt like they would never be saved.

But it was a great ending, glad things worked out. There's so much subtle drama too. Never count anything that happens as an isolated incident. There is so much deep and horrifying drama that happens in the background of the main story and plot. Things that wont be explain to you but you can pick up if you pay attention to the background characters or what they say. It's never an isolated incident. You will see those characters again, the ones in the background. And you will keep seeing them and seeing how they develope even though they never really are focused on.

I remember there was one moment where I was like "wow!", just in shock because of a subtle fact that was unvieled and the show or episode itself never focused on this problem. Ever. It was only addressed once, seemingly but I picked up on it and it just really added more depth to everything going around. They good have focused on the "problem" but I think it was tasteful to not give it focus and let viewers pick up on it where as the more ignorant may not understand or pick it up at all. I wont say what it was. It's so subtle but so powerfully dramatic and just wow. It left me surprised but at the same time not so surprised. You kinda figured stuff like that was bound to happen.

Anywho enough rambling. Good anime good anime. Go buy or pirate or whatever it is you crazy kids do. I bought my boxedset and Im glad I did. It's a good choice.

26 episodes long and each episode is packed with a lot of stuff so prepare yourselves.
