Hurricanger to Magiranger = Light-hearted? Yes or no?

I'm so fuckin' sick of Black Fang's bullshit. I'm getting tired of his pathetic comments and thinks he knows everything, acting like he is perfect and superior than anyone.

Now I want to know what's your opinion about Hurricanger to Magiranger. Are they Light-hearted seasons?

I admit that Kamen Rider Den-O is a light-heart season and I'm REALLY enjoy it A LOT.

So what's your comments?

I don't know who Black Fang is, but is it really appropriate to start a thread about how much you hate him? I mean if you want to talk about Hurricanger or Magiranger, then that's all cool, but you should leave Black Fang out of it.

They are lighthearted, but that's not necessarily a bad thing -- it depends on how it's done. But I think sentai's stuck with the lighthearted type too long -- it needs shaken up (and Boukenger certainly wasn't the answer when it wasn't too terribly different from the other recent shows). Den-O's lighthearted, but Rider really needed a lighthearted entry, IMO.

I agree with Shougo. I have been enjoying these light-hearted seasons but I wouldn't mind a season with a less light tone. Now that's NOT to say I want some 'dark' crap. I'm thinking somethng along the lines of Boukenger but without Akashi's (and all the other) sillier moments, a regular yellow and a more... urgent mission/storyline. Using a robo to beat up a bunch of footsoldiers and regular sized monsters can stay though.

It's a Rangerboard. I post there too and 'know' Black Fang so I actually found the opening post pretty funny. I get what you're saying about it being inappropriate though.

Ok, what about Hurricanger? Since Goujira showed up, it became a little bit darker or what? What about... Yousuke's nearly death, trying to save Ikkou from Mahaburara's (sp?) poisonious scorpion? Some episodes were the best ever.

Ok, I admitted that Hurricanger had some light-heart because of Shurikenger, Oboro, Wendinu and Furabijou. I loved them all.

Hurricanger is one of my favourite Sentai series, next to Dekaranger. Unlikely Ninja Storm's stupidity bullshit.

How about Abaranger? Since AbareKiller first showed up, it became DARKER and intense violence. I loved the story between Ryouga and Mikoto. The battle between AbaRed and AbareKiller were awesome. Abaranger is an awesome Sentai series, effin' better Dino Thunder and that's for sure.

Dekaranger? I loved Dekaranger and I admit that Ban and Umeko are both silly but they are both my favourite Rangers. Umeko is more than Ban for me, IMO. She's hot. Anyway... what about Jasmine's past, the one who told a story about when she was a kid? That was dramatic and dark. I can't remember others. Personally, I prefer Dekaranger better than S.P.D.

Magiranger. Yeah, Magiranger isn't the best sentai series ever, but it was good. I liked the story about 5 siblings and their parents. Wolzard's past and everything. The talkin' plant annoyed me a lot. I understand that Magiranger had too many silly.

Haha, sorry. I know you just made a typo but it made me imagine Godzilla appearing and making show 'darker' by blocking out the Sun.

Dammit. It has been loooooooong time since I watched Hurricanger. :shakefist

Gouraijer, I mean, not Goujira.

I've only seen Aba, Deka, and Magi, so I can't comment on Hurricanger. The other three though seemed like good mixtures of light and dark. I never really saw them as one or the other. Instead they seemed to offer a little bit of everything.

Abaranger for example had its light-hearted, fun episodes, but a lot of it was intense, plot driven stuff. Asuka and Mahoro/Jannu's story as well as Mikoto's were more serious, while the croc thing (I forget his name) drooling over Ranru was just meant to be funny. Abaranger was a great mixture and turned out to be my favorite Sentai ever.

They were light hearted but also had some darker areas which was cool.

Personally I wouldn't mind a darker/serious toned Sentai sometime soon like Maskman & Changeman style.

I must say though that Gekiranger's villians satisfying me a great deal so far in the darker area.

I didn't think they were dark. Agreed, Hurri had some light-moments, but as red said, once the Gouraijers showed up, it changed pace. Shurikenger's death became a greater issue and don't forget the Scorpion egg inside Ikkou's organs.

Abaranger was light-hearted but got darker. Namely, Ryouga's issues with being guardian for his niece, Yukito's father issues, Asuka as the Gouridon(sp?), the obvious AbareKiller and his demise, Mahoro/Jyannu story and more.
