How to convince my dad?

If you don't have the belt then you can't become a Kamen Rider, and if you don't become a Kamen Rider THEN WHO WILL FIGHT THE KAIJIN HUH!?

It's perfect logic.

Well, I'm broke myself. I'm using it for play but also collecting. I got lucky with my DX stuff because my Dad was in a good mood. Also, I think he got ticked off when I asked him the first time is because he used his credit card a lot at the Philippines and when we got back he had a crapload of debt to pay. He's still pissed right now so I'll ask him when his head is cooled.

Just wait and ask for Christmas or for your Birthday. Seriously though, I really was about to kill some one for a Gatack belt, but my Japanese teacher (when we were in Japan) told me "Tony, what's the point?" and I'm like, "man..." So yeah, I still don't have a Gatack belt, but I don't mind. It can wait. It's just a Den-O Belt. Not that special. Heck, you probably have a few belts of your own. I don't have any. :bawling:

yeah a holiday or special occassion would help a lot better. I mean, you have to understand those belts arent cheap. Of course your dad is going to say "well why should you have it" or "why should I pay 100 dollars for a toy for you".

In this instance, you need to do something in return. When he asks for a reason, start the bargaining. Offer to mow the yard, do the dishes, laundry, help him in the garage, help do physical labor. Or promise him good grades.

You need to give a little to get a little

Law of equivalent exchange?:P But seriously speaking, Garren's right. In situations like these, you gotta convince your dad that either the DX belt is worth it or he gets something in return. My suggestion is to get a job to help pay for it a bit and promise your dad with chores, homework, good grades, anything. And make good on your promise so that the ball's then in his court. He'll see that you're really working for it and maybe that'll sway him.
