I've just started playing Subnautica and I'm really intrigued by the crafting mechanics. I've seen a lot of different items and blueprints, but I'm not quite sure how the system works. Can anyone explain how I can effectively gather resources and use them to craft upgrades and equipment? Any tips on prioritizing what to craft first?

Subnautica has a pretty engaging crafting system that’s essential for survival and exploration. First, you’ll want to focus on gathering basic resources like Titanium, Copper, and Quartz, as these are used in a lot of early-game items.

Start by crafting a Survival Knife as soon as you can, which will allow you to gather materials like Creepvine and Bladderfish more efficiently. Next, prioritize building the Scanner, as it will help you locate blueprints for other valuable equipment and vehicles. It’s a game-changer.

Once you've got those, work on constructing a Fabricator, which lets you create various equipment and tools. After that, consider crafting a Repair Tool if you haven’t already. This is crucial for fixing your Lifepod and other damaged components you’ll encounter.

As for upgrades, focus on the O₂ Tank early on to extend your underwater exploration time. You might also want to build the Seaglide, as it vastly improves your mobility and makes resource gathering much quicker.

Lastly, if you can, start looking for blueprints for the Seamoth vehicle. It will significantly enhance your ability to explore deeper areas without the constant threat of drowning or running out of oxygen.

Overall, prioritize your crafting around tools that aid in exploration and resource gathering first, then work towards vehicles and upgrades. Happy diving!
