Asian Americans!!! Jackie aint american but still gets roles. While America got plenty of asians of their own.

I fully agree about Jackie Chan not counting.
We're talking about actors in roles.
When you go see a Jackie Chan movie, you're going to see Jackie Chan. Not an actor portray a roll.

This also something that realy bothers me, whenever you got a asian lead in a movie its always a asian guy from asia. Who probably is hard to understand in english, its one these reasons i dont get why they dont use asians of their own.

Yeah, but Jackie Chan is a pretty big name actor, so I kinda agree that he shouldn't count in this context.

I think it's really lame because half the time if there's an Asian cast in a role, they're usually some form of martial artist or something like that. It's not very often that you get an Asian guy in a movie just as a normal character. Western cinema has that stereotype that all Asians can do kung-fu. Hell, one of the few movies that comes off the top of my head that features an Asian as your normal everyday guy is Harold & Kumar. Same guy played a role that is required to be Asian, Sulu, in the newest Star Trek film.
As for the statement earlier about non-Asians being cast in Asian films; I can tell you straight up that in Japan at least they LOVE foreigners, half-Japanese actors/models/etc are extremely popular too. I mean 3 days ago a film just came out here starring Horikita Maki, Matsuyama Kenichi, Yuya Tegoshi and Anton Yelchin (yeah, the guy that played Chekov in the newest Star Trek film). The main issue isn't that they aren't Japanese but that they can't speak Japanese. I'm unsure if Anton speaks Japanese in that film or not.
And also as I was watching TV at my boyfriend's apartment there was a childrens show that had at least 2 half-Japanese children on it as the main stars. There are more and more shows like that cropping up in Japan. It's sure not multicultural, but if you're foreign you have a fair chance at getting on TV. I've been on TV 3 times since I got here, chances are it's because I'm a foreigner.

As for the main issue at hand, yes, there are not many asian people in most of america, but large cities like New York, L.A., or even Orlando have a high asian population, and Asian-Americans are the majority in hawaii, making up 31%, with caucasians at 27%, and African-Americans even less.
The thing is is that hollywood is racist against asians when it comes to movies. Ones that take place in large cities rarely have an asian as a main cast member, or if they do, they are stereotypical and go out of their way to get someone big to play it. At the same time, there was reverse racism when Dragonball Evo came out, asking why goku wasn't asian. He was an alien, so he could have been black or hispanic for all I care. But not martian, because they need to go back to their own planet.
All in all, I don't really care who they get to play parts, as long as the actor is good. Whether he/she is asian or of any other race doesn't matter. Hollywood should just make roles to be played by persons of any race.
