How do you deal with fake antivirus, hmm?

Avast, Malwarebytes, Spybot thrown in for good measure ...ALL free ..Problems solved. "Ordering" antivirus progs :disappoin ...OH yah , and PS , DON'T use IE ugh

I think I had to do System Restore the last time I got a big virus. That was horrible because I tried installing Malware Bytes but the program still wouldn't work or whatever. It was strange.

Maybe it's your computer? I still got antivirus program called, Vipre. It's really good and it has protected me and my computer ever since. While I'm waiting for new three long years antivirus program CD to coming out. I'm even amazed that Vipre can hold that longer. I'll be get it by next month. Only 64 dollars plus tax.

Whenever you have a bad virus , it's wise to actually unplug your net , turn OFF system restore and run your anti-virus, spyware etc progs. A lot of virii hide in sys restore and can only be found/removed when turned off and not connected to the net. Of course, do all in safe mode as well.

Thanks for being concern.

Don't worry. I still have Vipre on. It still protects my computer. Its holds much longer until I get new one coming next month.

Those false antivirus programs usually come from shady porn sites.

That's not entirely true. A fake antivirus popped out my tab when I clicked a song link on 4shared to listen to a song. I thought it was strange so I clicked it again and the same thing happened. A few months later, it happened again, but it didn't harm my computer. It just kept me from closing the tab until I clicked on it. I didn't do either. I just ended the browser window and it was fine. Sentinel, just keep from downloading sites for a while until you get that antivirus.

That's what I'm going to do. It should be in the stock by now. I haven't got the phone call from my female friend that it has arrived or not. How unbearable for me to waiting.
