I can see why the people who don't like live action and only anime would say it's bad since, well...most of them are just ignorant, but honestly, this doesn't look all that bad. Not great, but I'll still give it a shot.

I agree. It doesn't look all that bad and the way everyone looks is pretty close to the manga/anime. Well maybe not Takamichi, but almost everyone.

The reason I find this to be one of those bad things is because my MST3K sense is going into overdrive here. I'm finding Akamatsu's work doesn't really translate well into animation well anymore either.
The winking head wizard at the beginning gives me this whole pedophile situation going on. Plus the fact Negi is being played by a girl in this (which staves off some accusations but raises further questions) its giving me a feeling I need help from some guys trapped in space.

O rly? I've seen comparison pictures and half the girls don't look close to their anime counterparts :laugh: Well then again the crew would have to go over budget getting all the wigs they'd need, I mean the only thing that really tells apart the Negima girls are the hair styles <__<

Is it just me or does the actor portraying as Negi Springfield really reminds me of the guy who played as Daniel from the live action version of Shinigami no Ballad or is that completely different?
As for the trailer itself, it doesn't look really that bad, though the classroom's a tad smaller and darker than I thought in the manga. (And before you ask, yes I DO read the manga and no, I don't want to watch the two anime series that wants me to go insanely mad.)
