Well one of the reasons why Methos is the oldest Immortal is because he learned how to not draw attention to himself, unlike Duncan who pretty much broadcast himself every where he goes. He became a living myth among other immortals and Watchers by hiding in plain sight. And he took up the role Daius had in season one, an older immortal who's basically a mentor to Duncan. Part of Methos' charm is among fans is he a sarcastic SOB, he gets in Macleod's nerves at times and he enjoys being able to do so easily. But he's also not afraid to get his hands dirty when needed.

I don't remember if it was season 4 or 5 but there was an ep where Duncan had trouble with an evil immortal woman, he had faced her twice but didn't kill her either times because of his code of honor. Methos comes up to her and when she demands to know who he his is answer is "Some one born before the age of chivalry." After a short fight he takes her head, doing the one thing Duncan couldn't bring himself to do.

I said it before but wait until season 5, you'll learn something about Methos that will change the way you llok at him.

I've got mixed feelings on the season 4 finale. I did enjoy that the story took a step into the Watcher stuff but it felt less epic than the previous finales.

Almost done Season 4.

An alright season, the highlight was Evil Duncan.

Easily the best arc of the season, largely in part because at this point in the series, Evil Duncan is the last thing that anyone would ever expect to happen. And when we saw Evil Duncan, we definitely saw EVIL Duncan.

Methos so far up to this point is a complete waste. I was expecting something more from the Oldest Immortal.

They make up for it pretty huge-ly (is that even a word?) with a couple of eps in Season 5.

The ep before the 2 part finale, the one where Duncan and 2 other dudes love off another Immortal female was just fucking horrid. Worst episode of the series.

Yeah, it was pretty bad, but I have to admit I actually found it funny how she was totally going after Methos at first...and then at the end how she and Methos punked Duncan. The look on his face when he felt Methos' presence = :laugh:

Where the **** did Richie go? He's been gone since the Evil Duncan arc.

Remember that Richie had no idea whatsoever that Duncan was "Evil Duncan." All he knew was that his mentor and (dare I say) best friend betrayed and attacked him, trying to take his head. That would make damn near anyone want to haul ass and hide out for a while. Just wait until you see him return in Season 5.

Yep, that was why he was my favorite character in the series after Duncan.

The first ep of Season 5 will build up on the drama of the S4 finale. The 2 eps definitely work better together than separately.

A little OT but I found a brief plot description of the Highlander reboot on wiki. Not sure how true it is but here it is

A few fans have been **** talking Season 5 and 6.... But from the sound of it from you guys they should be solid seasons aswell.

Agreed.

Part of me almost wishes that they just ended the series with the finale of Season 5 and just skipped 6 altogether. Now THAT would have been an ending.

9.9 out of 10 people tell me to avoid Season 6.

God Dammit.... I'm also hearing Duncan isn't in all of the episodes?.. wtf...

Anyway,

Season 5's premiere was fantastic. I was always wondering what Duncan was like before becoming an Immortal. Was it ever specified HOW he died and returned?. I may have missed that in the previous episode if it was mentioned.

Duncan nailing the Witch Immortal at the end of 5x01 was excellent. I totally would have guess it too since he is the James Bond of Immortals.

I also liked the nod to his Grandfather (being named Connor MacLeod).

The relationship between Connor and Duncan (in Season 1 ep 1) is that they are cousins, right?. My memory is a bit fuzzy.

One thing that worries me about the end of the series is that if RAVEN airs after Season 6 of Highlander, then there are more Immortals which tells me either a) Duncan doesn't win it or b) Duncan dies in Season 6. Not sure how this will play out.

I'm still curious to know what THE ONE/The Winner actually gets.
