Help regarding DVD region/DVD Box set.

Here is the exact home player I have:
http://www.daytek.ca/z-500.html

One search I did came up with this:

"Daytek Z-500 DVD Home Treatre System (All Region DVD Player, DTS & Dolby 5.1 Audio Video Receiver, Radio and 175W 5.1 Speaker System, Repack Retail Version) ..."

But the page keeps freezing and cuts me off completely.

Those region codes are not based on a geographical criteria but on time criteria, namely how long it takes for a movie to be put out on DVD. The US DVD's of a movie come out before any other area, hence they have their region code 1.
Japan and Europe usually get movies at about the same time frame, thus they have the same region code.

Basically, it's all about being able to cut up the market in segments (like console constructors) do, so that international sales won't get in the way of their marketing strategies.

Aaaah!! Soo Desu!! Makes sense now!! Thanks!!
