Help! Hotspot shield has back fired!

Yeah, Tried the wildly recomended Hotspot shield, I liked it's sercurity, but hate my 500 mb laptop, RAM, so until I get mah 2 Gigz, I tought I'd uninstalled it, I did and rebooted.. Tada! All microsoft softwares that really matters to me disappears! like IE, Msn and Windows update.... well IE dont rele taht matter... but they all can't seems to connect to the Internet!

What have they done to it?

Suspects:
Firewall - cleared
Internet - cleared
Proxy
Others


Proxy seems like a big no no in my side.. so .. help? ;_;

Well I decided to try the wildly recommended Hotspot shield; I liked the security it offered but my 500mb RAM on my laptop could not handle it. So until I get my 2gb of RAM, I thought I'd go and uninstall it. That's what I did and then I rebooted my computer.. Tada! All Microsoft related software that really mattered to me disappeared! IE, Msn and Windows update, well IE isn't all that important. Also nothing can seem to connect to the internet!

What do you think could have happened?

So a little help?

The internet is always a suspect, you could have attracted a trojan or spyware without any knowledge. The proxy seems unlikely, all a proxy does is essentially hide your IP through another IP, a proxy is not something you install or download (unless you are the host).

I suspected the hotspot shield did something to the proxy or sumthing, but let's give the good ol Spy bot and AVG duo a run for their buck.... no they're both free

Could hotspot shield possibly changed the proxy settings? o.0
