Helmetless/Helmet Damage

Am I the only one who didn't really like the HUD thing? It's cool in concept, but it never seems natural to me.

Yeah because you see it's not natural. The birth powers are Manufactured. They were made by a company. They are there to help the birth powers. I mean I don't see how you would even come up with "natural",

I really like helmet transformations where you get to see the actors in the suits. I never expect them to do the fighting, but it's always neat to see the actors suit up at least once. It helps ease the suspense of disbelief. Go-Onger did this probably more than it needed to. Still, despite not caring for the series overall, I did enjoy the helmetless rollcall at the end.

The best way to top that though is with helmets with battle damage. It does all the above and makes the characters seem that much more badass. It's typically a hallmark of some of my favorite series (Gekiranger, Jetman, Kamen Rider Blade examples below. Don't know if anyone cares about battle damage being spoiled, but hidden anyway.).

So, what are some of your favorite helmetless/helmet damage scenes?

I like them too, all of them. I think it adds to the fight scenes, making it look more like the actor is in the suit. It's especially awesome in Power Rangers, which has the extra hurdle of convincing us half the footage didn't come from Japan and that a good cut is all that keeps us from seeing Takeru, Saki, or any other Sentai Warrior instead of their Power Ranger counterpart (That wasn't meant as a insult against PR). Yeah, helmetless scenes are always great, especially since they happen so infrequently. I'm still waiting for it on Samurai and Gokaiger (although the moments in the special Gokai Changes that have the heroes with the past Sentai's body and their Gokai helmets are pretty cool) where and I don't think Go-onger overdid it.

The TimeRed example also happened in Power Rangers Time Force. Obviously the smashed helmet scene was refilmed.

For some reason, that made me giggle. :buttrock:

Nobody has mentioned Kouga in Garo: Beast of the White Night. Why has nobody mentioned Kouga in Beast of the White Night? I'm mentioning Kouga in Beast of the White Night.

Also, obviously, Hikawa in G4 Project.

Nice thread. Old but nice...
Personally I think the helmetless is one of the best things in this kind of shows, of course because of the "reality sensation" that it gives.
It's a pity that in some shows -especially in Power Rangers- we Never Had any helmetless episode or scene. TimeForce is the perfect example, even when Wes had his broken visor. Nothing in comparison to its previous seasons, Lightspeed and Lost Galaxy.
Wild Force was the other one, but Wild Force was rare itself, you know, the Saban-Disney change, a helmetless scene that never was aired...

In Super Sentai is different, and if there's not a helmetless episode, there's a broken helmet one.
Nice screencaps, thanks for share!
