Gunmen killed 14 at a Batman film showing

Hmph so I was wrong still doesn't change the fact that Japan is far from perfect.

Which is why I get very annoyed when I hear people here go on about how Japan is much better than the US despite never stepping foot in Japan thus having no actual knowledge of what it's like to live there.

Sorry, bro. It's just my opinion on how I feel about it.

Posters like ParaParaJMo lives in Japan themselves, & posters like him knows what it's like there firsthand.

Oh, god. This is genius.

Do you know what a "rate" is? It's crime compared to the population. It doesn't matter how big your population is.

Take this for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate

In 2011, there were 0.35 homicides per 100,000 population in Japan versus 4.7 per 100,000 population in the United States. That means for every 100,000 people, there are around 14 times more people killed in the United States versus in Japan. Note the part "per 100,000 population".

And if you happen to look at the chart in the "Most recent" section in general, there are countries that are even more worse in homicide rates than even the U.S. itself, going from Ukraine to Honduras. Way worse. They would be the last countries that I would want to visit or even live in.

That's true of course. I live in one such country. I was more responding to the case of Japan vs. the United States.

I'm sorry, but this reminds me of...

I really don't like the first article :redface2: . "A source"? Please.

I really like how the woman in the second article didn't realize she was talking to Bale.
