It started out with the 200 bucks I got for x-mas, I was going to buy a DS Lite but just before then I got a bonus 200 from dad. I decided to buy both DS and PSP. The PSP is nice , the DS is nice too. They both are pretty good. I couldn't afford any games though. I am wondering does anyone know where I can download PSP games from? My PC doesn't have memory stick duo slots so I guess I can load them right to the PSP through the USB and the PSP will save them to the stick. Right?

Or you can buy a memory stick adapter that goes through the USB system. Anyway, you have to have special firmware to run PSP ISO's. But unfortunately these are homemade firmware that Sony is against by patching current firmware like 3.00. There have been two patches because of system intrusions such as hacked firmware(3.02 OE-A and B). Besides there are pretty good games out there that aren't expensive. If you wanna ask more people I suggest going to the Playstation Underground boards.

A PSP and a DS....I'd just buy a DS and Wii. I have a PSP, and its good, I use it mainly for the MP3/Movie player Portion. It's good don't get me wrong, but there are a handful of good unported games on it.

They very rarely bring out any good exclusives. Only exclusives they have that I care for much is the Onimusha series, Devil May Cry series, and the Metal Gear Solid series. And those are games that I can just go over to friends houses to play. I don't hate Sony, They are just my least favorite Console company.

I've noticed this intire board doesn't like Sony.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm Pro Sony!

I think the only reason Sony is getting a bad rap is because they've made the PS3 a home entertainment system instead of just a game console, so it's really expensive.

In regards to Geki Red's comment about exclusives and going over a friends house... I've found that the PS2 has a MUCH better game pool than the Gamecube or Xbox. I liked the XBox's online play feature, and haven't bothered with a GC. The GC had 5 good games on it, and all required 3+ players to be any good.

Also, if you can just go over your friends and play it, then you could conceivably do the same with any game on any console.... so why bother buying any?

yeah I freaking noticed that too. Though I love Nintendo and dont like Sony nor Microsoft's practices, I still think their systems are more practical most of the time. PSP definitely has more going for it than DS. Im not saying PSP is better, really. But I'm just trying to give pros for both sides. Not just blindly say "RAWR SONY SUX!!!"

Yeah, my multimedia combined with games I prefer my PSP. For just playing games very well, I'd prefer the DS.

I love my PS2 and my PSP. I carry the PSP around with me in my purse like the nerd I am.

I have never done a firmware patch on my PSP though. Supposedly you can run emulators, from some old school stuff to PSX games. The deal is getting a nice sized memory stick. Last year my friends got some 2gigs for $40 on eBay, and I'm sure you can get a better deal now.

In the console war Sony killed my beloved Dreamcast. I've always been a hater even if the PS2 had a ton of prettya awesome games. It seems most geek sites I go to have a Nintendo bias, cuz they just seem to come off as the nice guy of the war.

As for the PSP vs DS... DS by a looooonnnnng shot, and I can blessedly say that with bias or no. DS at this point just has too many killer app experiences you just can't get anywhere else.
