I've been noticing this for a while, is their a significance as to why these two colors are paired up?

examples:

the Superior Ultraman 8 Brothers had Goldras and Silvergon

the the new Den-O movie had Goldra and Silvara

Engine Sentai Go-Onger had Go-On Gold and Go-On Silver.

of course their is also Pokemon Gold and Silver.
