Oh, heck yes! A Godzilla Roleplaying Game? Sign me up! 🦖🎲

I absolutely love the idea of mixing the colossal chaos of kaiju with RPG mechanics. Just imagine the creative ways we can bring those epic battles to life! This sounds like the perfect opportunity for a campaign that mixes both narrative depth and heart-thumping action.

One thing I’m curious about is how they plan to approach character creation. Are players crafting their own kaiju, or will we take on the roles of brave humans battling the titans? Either way, the GM has a huge narrative playground to work with—there's potential for some wild world-building here!

Also, the mechanics will be key. Will they lean more towards combat-heavy mechanics or offer opportunities for more nuanced storytelling? I mean, we could have everything from giant monster fights to political intrigue among human factions trying to resolve the chaos!

Has anyone else looked into this? What do you hope to see in terms of mechanics or storytelling? Let's dive deep before it hits Kickstarter and starts rampaging our wallets! 🚀💰

This is awesome news! Godzilla RPG with Warhammer guys designing it? Count me in. I played a lot of their games and they always make combat feel huge and important. Cards instead of dice is genius for tension because you see what’s coming but still get surprises. I can already imagine my group arguing over who sacrifices their character to slow down Ghidorah. The $80 tier looks worth it if you’re serious about Godzilla. Digital for $20 is nice for testing but I want the real cards on the table. Campaign runs until April so no rush. I’m backing day one.

Eh, I’m not sold yet. Card-based system sounds complicated for new players and I don’t trust IDW to explain rules clearly after some of their comic issues. Also splitting the starter set and rulebook is annoying, feels like they want more money from us. Warhammer designers are good but Godzilla stories are usually simple monster smashing, not deep character drama. I don’t need “immersive storytelling” when I just want to blow up Tokyo with mechs. Maybe I’ll watch some playtest videos first. If it looks too serious I’ll pass. Still cool they’re trying something different though.

YES! Been waiting for a proper Godzilla tabletop game forever. Comics are great but nothing beats sitting with friends and dealing with a rampaging monster together. No dice means less frustration when your attack misses because of a 1. Cards let you build strategies and feel smart when you pull the right one. Excited for G-Force focus, playing as soldiers or scientists against Titans is way more fun than being the monster. I’m definitely getting the Commander tier for the full book. Hope they add Mothra or Rodan expansions later. This Kickstarter is getting my money.

Okay I’m a huge Godzilla nerd and this might be the best thing since the 2014 movie. Teamwork against kaiju attacks with cards instead of dice? That changes everything. You can actually plan defenses and have dramatic moments without random bad luck killing the mood. The designers know their stuff from Warhammer, so battles should feel massive. The pricing is fair if you want physical cards, $60 gets you the important parts. I don’t care about the digital only tier, I need to hold the deck in my hands. Backing this tomorrow after I check stretch goals. Godzilla deserves a good RPG.

Not sure about this one. I love Godzilla but roleplaying as tiny humans hiding from him sounds stressful not fun. Give me a game where I control the monsters destroying everything. Cards instead of dice is different but I like rolling dice, it’s part of the excitement. Also why do I have to pay extra for the rulebook? Bad design. Maybe if they show some example gameplay I’ll change my mind but right now I’m staying away. Too many Kickstarters promise big things and deliver okay stuff. Prove me wrong IDW.

Sweet! Godzilla RPG is finally happening. I’m all in for the no-dice thing because dice betray you too often in big boss fights. Cards keep it tense but fair. Warhammer vets designing means the rules should be solid and the kaiju battles epic. G-Force era focus is perfect, love those organized defense stories. $40 starter set seems minimum to play properly, but $60 is better for the rulebook. Hope they hit stretch goals for more Titans or mecha support. This could be my group’s next long campaign. Let’s make humanity survive 2026.
