Usually, especially in vs movies, either the focus on the two teams is well balanced (examples : Deka vs Aba, Magi vs Deka, Timeranger vs GogoV, Geki vs Bouken), or the current team has much more focus (Car vs Oh, Ginga vs Mega)
However, Go-onger vs Geki is one of the few cases where is the current team (Go-onger) which is sidelined : most of the drama is focused on the Gekiranger, with the main villain being Long and a Rinjyuken warrior, with the Gaiark being mostly comic relief. Likewise, the Go-onger look like comic relief compared to the Gekiranger, which feel much more pro warriors than the Engine warriors. The main climax seems more to be the showdown between Long, Jan and a resurrected Rio than the Go-onger and Gekiranger teamwork. Even with the supporting characters, Gekiranger has more focus, with Shafu, Natsume and Miki having a good buch of fun scenes.
It may be explained by the fact that the writer of the movie was Naruhisa Arakawa, who was much more involved in Gekiranger than Go-onger, and, as a result, gave more focus on the team he knew more.
